You guys have it easy--most professors are forgiving of those looking to enter academia since they understand the importance.

I had to hide the fact that I was flying out to these interviews from my boss since EDs don't care for academics. I took a lot of random personal days in February and March a few weeks before quitting.

Yeah, that's true. The profs are understanding. But right now, I'm in my most difficult math class I've ever taken (time series analysis), which I need to pass to get my math degree. And I'm missing four straight weeks of it (it's on Thursday nights)... But it's okay. Good problem to have, I guess.

anyone apply to stony brook's social & health program? haven't seen anything in the results survey and haven't heard from the school aside from an email that was sent early january....any information would be greatly appreciated!!

I heard back from SUNY SB on Jan 1st saying I was in the top group and only people from this group were being considered... but nothing yet besides that.

Does anyone know if Michigan State's social program sent out notifications yet? They usually send out acceptances late January but so far the results page is empty. All of MSU's other psych programs have sent out notifications so far so I'm not sure if they are behind, or if the recipients aren't on gradcafe.

Has anyone applied to Social Psych in Stanford and heard anything? Do they normally require interview for admission?

Anyway, all the best everyone!!!

No idea if they sent invites yet, but I know they do hold interviews.

Thanks Watson! Do you happen to know roughly when their interviews were held in previous years?

Other than the one poster on the survey, has anyone heard from UC-Boulder?

Nothing yet. I emailed to see if my app was complete and all they said was that it was still being considered "in the review process."

I was the one person on the survey. I had an informal phone interview with my POI on Saturday. Interview weekend is March 1-2. She said they are in the process of contacting people.

"In the process"-- I like that. I think it means that I could still have a chance within the next few days!

I have applied to a ton of schools, but have only heard back from 3. It's killing me.

Has anyone heard back from any of the following schools?

UCSB

WashU

Kansas State

UC-Boulder

UCONN

Florida State

Nebraska

CUNY

Tennessee (Experimental Social)

Tulane

Any information would be GREATLY appreciated!

I heard from UC Boulder. I had a phone interview on Saturday, and their interview weekend is March 1-3. It sounds like they just made decisions, though, and may still be notifying people. I applied to Florida State but have heard nothing. Not hoping for much from them. Who are your POIs at those two?

I applied to work with Bernadette Park at UC Boulder and Ashby Plant at Florida State. I am holding out for Kansas State (talked with my POI there at SPSP and it seemed like it went really well). I will go wherever I can get in though! Who was your POI at UC Boulder?

I applied to Tennessee but so far haven't heard anything about decisions. I was getting emails every MWF saying my application was complete (or basically something of that nature) but strangely I haven't received those emails this week.

I was offered a spot at UConn last week. They're now determining who gets fellowship nominations, so it sounds like the initial offers have already gone out.

Has anyone heard back from any of the following schools:

Penn State

Wisconsin - Madison

Pittsburgh

Delaware

The results page seems to be quiet for these so far but if anyone knows anything about them I'd really appreciate it.

Florida State sent out all "interview weekend" invites for Social

I am a grad student at FSU in Social Psy.. let me know of any questions about anything

Also, just because you did not receive an invite to FSU does not necessarily mean you are out of the running.

And just becuase you did get an invite does not mean you are in.
