Intel for people waiting to hear back from MIT Biology: I heard through the grapevine that from each of the two first interviews they accept the top 1/3 of the applicants. They wait until the end of the third interview to review the rest and by the end they will accept roughly 70% of the total people they interview.

Hi all!

I'm an international applicant. My profile is here:

GRE: Q-750

V-430

AWA- 4.0

TOEFL- 105 (I've got a 30/30 in writing)

GPA- 3.75 (out of 4)

Program of Interest- Neurosciences

I'm assisting my Professor who's currently doing her PhD. I've also finished an internship at an industry and completed a industrial training program. I also have to my profile, a Certificate course in Psychological counseling which is equivalent to a Post Graduate Diploma. I have attended a couple of international conferences and presented a poster in a national conference too. I have an undergraduate research project too.

The schools which I've applied for are:

For PhD in Neurosciences:

University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio IMGP

Georgia Health Sciences University

Marquette University

University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha

University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, Memphis

Texas A&M Institute of Neuroscience

For MS in Neurosciences:

University of Montana

I haven't heard from any of the universities above. I was rejected the last year when I applied for fall 2011 because my application came in late. This year I sent my application early in October and still no reply from them.

What chances do I stand for admission in any of the universities, kindly give me your valuable feedback guys, Cheers!

I'm interviewing at the last recruitment (this weekend). Hopefully they get back to us quickly. I so badly just want to know where I'm going so I can start planning my life...

From what I gather from my survey stalking skills, they have gotten back to people on the Wednesday after the first two interviews. I dunno if they're planning the same thing after the last interview.

@Neuropsychologist, I'm confused like virion. Its clear you're working in a lab, but your phrasing makes it sound like your supervisor is currently pursuing a PhD herself, instead of being faculty. Is that the case, or are your stats being misread?

Yep, I heard back from MIT the Wednesday after my interview :)

@TXTiger: She's pursuing her PhD now, and yeah she's my supervisor! She's an assistant professor. That's her designation as per UGC rules in India! That must have created the confusion, coz, a Professor is one who's finished his/her PhD, I understand. But this is how it is in India!

Hello. Anyone admitted into the University of Cincinnati college of medicine for MS in Immunobiology ? Or in general University of CIncinnati College of medicine?

Signing the SOI for UTHSCSA for IMGP this week! :-)... Feel so relieved on getting done with this process. :-)

@Neuropsychologist - thank you! I've been quite lucky I think, as my GRE scores are pretty average/low for a lot of the places I applied (I had no idea they were so important when I took them in 2011 - I'd never done a standardized exam before!)

@paulio, I'm really curious where you're going to end up!! Obviously I want everyone to go to Columbia <_< Congrats on all the amazing choices.

Anyone else still waiting on Stanford after interviewing? They said we'd hear back quickly, and some people heard last week, mostly by phone, but I haven't heard a thing.

Also waiting on Michigan, where I interviewed a month ago.

I'm still waiting on Stanford technically, but I feel like since they called people last week it's probably a rejection. Which home program did you interview with? I interviewed with biochemistry and saw an acceptance posted from biophysics and cancer biology not that long ago, so I don't think all programs are done sending out acceptances.
