I don't want to generate a frenzy of speculation, but it is my understanding that UPenn (Classics) has already interviewed, accepted, and/or rejected a fair number of people. Do with that what you will.

I can confirm that one of my friends got in UPenn over a week ago (I believe this was for Classical Studies).

Well I applied for AAMW so can live in hope. Not particularly bothered, good offers in the US and UK.

i just posted an acceptance from columbia (clst), and i should have said in the submission box that i got the impression from the admission email that there will be another round of acceptances.

Can you quote the email - still waiting for anything. Being bronze age in speciality, would be very surprised to get an acceptance, but hey, nothing wrong with living in hope:)

As I understand it, Columbia's admissions are more or less "rolling." They have students up for in-person interviews individually and notify that person one or two weeks after the visit. Naturally, if you have an interview that you haven't done yet, I wouldn't look for a response. But if you did do an interview already, then keep an eye out.

Thanks - interviewed last week, so guess maybe not dead yet!

Does anybody know anything about the Columbia CLST MA? I put them down as a second choice in my PhD app but the terminal MA app isn't due until June 2. Will I have to wait all the way until the end of June to hear back from them?

"You are among the small and exclusive group of candidates whom we contact now, which tells you how highly we think of your work!" (why thank you, columbia).  this reads to me like there'll be a group of candidates contacted later.  i mean, it's no guarantee, but they interviewed in rounds, so it doesn't seem a long shot that they'll accept in rounds.  i'll repeat that this is for the classical studies program, not for the classics program.

The classics department at Columbia has 6 accepted students coming in for visits. If you applied for straight classics and didn't get word hope may lie in a waitlist. The Classical Studies MA will hold interviews and be decided a few days to a week after the deadline, around the same time as Columbia and UPenn admit post-baccs. Good luck to all who applied/excited to meet those of you visiting for Classics and CLST!

This is Classics? Or all 'Classical things' - any news of a waitlist for classical studies?

Classics, i.e. Philology, Literature, etc., is pretty much decided it seems (but a waitlist may exist, I'm not sure since I'm in the CLST program but still privy to the listserv of emails from it).

No word on any waitlist with CLST, although besides the couple results on here, we haven't been informed of any specifics.  PhD students were requested to volunteer for potential housing of visitors in March but no specific information like from the Classics department on how many, who, or when.  I would assume that due to the late visiting weekends that there may be a second round (or at least a waitlist to go out immediately after any accepted visiting student denies their acceptance for elsewhere, as it seems was a trend in past years) but please don't quote me on it.  It would be a tad out of line to request that kind of info from Dr. Vogt, especially if things aren't confirmed yet, although I wish I could be of more help!

Just to set the record straight: these six students are being interviewed, and are not yet accepted. I believe the classics department plans to make offers to two of these six prospectives. They have already made one offer to a current classics post-bacc at Columbia.

I cannot speak to the admissions process in CLST.

Thanks for the correction!  I've been checking emails/responding to posts/thinking while navigating the subway and buses so I apologize for any hastily written and inaccurate info! The Post-Bacc admission was welcome news (word travels fast and that application/academic history was very much so deserving of an acceptance) but it seems I need to slow down before sharing info I'm not entirely sure of...

Don't worry about it! No big deal. :)

Hello everyone! I have not yet posted on this forum, but there is something weighing on me that I need to get out into the universe. I really, really, want Rutgers to accept me. I mean, I have a backup school that accepted me (no word on funding yet) but I just really want to go to Rutgers. I know it isn't a top tier school, but I don't care.  I feel like I'm a teenager who asked someone to prom and is waiting for a reply.

I saw on the results page that a few people have received rejections from University of Washington (Seattle).  Has anyone received an acceptance offer yet?  I applied and haven't received either a rejection or acceptance, so I do not know what to think.

Same here.  It's my understanding that they do multiple rounds of rejections, and these were sent by the graduate school so I assume they're not done deciding.

i can confirm that harvard is sending out acceptances by phone, even to international students.  does anybody have inside information on candidates for the three positions for which harvard is currently advertising?  the department could look completely different by august.

other useful information gleaned from interviews: yale has sent out eight acceptances, all at once, and they'll take however many accept.  princeton is interviewing eleven people and will accept nine before the end of next week.  so far as i know there's no wait list for either school.

Cornell just contacted me for a Skype interview! Can anyone who has gone through this tell me what to expect?

Are either of the two people who posted Notre Dame rejections on this board? If so, did you interview and then get rejected, or just hear a rejection?
