Thanks for the support, everyone! I wish we could just become one big, loving cohort at the same school!

I COMPLETELY agree! For real, that would be awesome. You guys are so great and I keep wanting to meet all of you and hoping that by some chance we end up practicing together. :)

Also, I feel you on the migraine. So sorry to hear that. I have one right now - I'm typing this from a dark room (with a monitor set to darkroom mode, meaning black background and red text). Yeah. It's bad. :( It was actually worse at work today, but thankfully the little boy I care for just wanted to play ghost, which to him meant lying down under a sheet whispering to himself. I don't know why he thought it was so fun, but that meant I got to lie down under a sheet with my sunglasses on for an hour which significantly helped...

Hope you feel better soon!

I'm starting to feel physically sick over these decisions. I've had the worst stress migraine since seeing all of the NYU decisions posted last night... and I even had a dream about it.

  :(

Same here! My mom and my boyfriend must think I have gone off the deep end ... it has become an obsession. Even finding out decisions about schools that aren't my top choice has become all I can think about!

Ugh I've been going through all of these pessimistic thoughts lately about how I don't think I'm gonna get in. Gah I was so positive that there was a chance last week and now I'm second guessing everything because of my anxiety! What the heck, brain. Stop making me freak out!

I was feeling like that all day, but keep your chin up! No news is better than bad news -- and when we do find out it will be just that more exciting  :)

@Sammehh

I had an interview a few weeks ago and the best/most helpful advice I received was to come up with 4-5 strong, well-rehearsed stories that I could tweak to answer various questions.

Most schools want to know why you are considering their school or why you would be a good fit to their program. Make sure you have a story/answer to share for questions along those lines.

Also, it is good to have an "elevator story" or "get to know you story". A story that walks them through how you got to where you are now, but in a concise 1-2 minute answer. I was able to use my "elevator story" to answer the question "What made you interested in the field of Speech Pathology".

Another example...I had a story about a time I received feedback at work. This was a story I could tweak and use to answer questions regarding how I handle feedback, how I handle stress, how I handle hard projects/situations, how I work with groups, etc.

I also had a few stories I rehearsed from my experiences working as a volunteer in a special education classroom. I used these stories to answer questions like, "Tell about a time when you worked with a difficult child" or "What sets you apart from the other applicants" or "What are your areas of interest", or content related/field based questions.

Hope this makes sense :)

The second best piece of advice I received was to be myself. I had a lot of feedback to present myself this way, that way, or the other, but when it came down it, I was most comfortable and confident when I was genuine and showing my true personality. The interviewers do this year after year so they can detect a genuine person from a façade so might as well just be yourself.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for the advice!! I will definitely take it and use it...thankfully I will have 8 hours in the car to "rehearse".

I got an interview email, but I don't know if I can make it-it's 1,000 miles away! (Grand Valley State University)
Also, I saw people posting acceptances from one of my schools, but I haven't heard anything yet. Is that good news or bad news? (It's Wayne State, by the way)

Is it possible to do a Skype interview?

And re: Wayne State, have you looked back at past years to see if they typically send out all acceptances at the same time?  Do they have a typical pattern?  That can let you know how likely it is that an acceptance is still coming your way.

Good luck!

I've gone from every other day feeling optimistic and then feeling doubtful to multiple times a day wavering between the two. My roommate gave me the "don't worry about it, you'll get in somewhere," line. Hearing that is like nails on a chalk board right now. I thought I might hear back from a school or two this week but it looks like March 15th is the more accurate date.

Pintrest is getting me through all the craziness. This weekend I'll be making a crate bookshelf.

I can say I go throught the same ups and downs each day also.  In today's world of technology it's hard to be patient.

Guys. I just finished Lost. My life is complete.

But, I still need more distraction from this waiting game... any netflix shows to get into?

My husband and I have been binging on American Horror Story ... it's more my flavor than his but the writing in the first season is good enough that he's gotten sucked in. :)

Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, Orange is the New Black, House of Cards!

I second Orange is the New Black! Love that show!

Guys I'm like dying. Seton Hall told people on March 1st last year and of course that means I'm now worried I didn't get in. No one has posted about them on the Results part yet so I'm hoping they just haven't told anyone. William Paterson said they were sending out decisions this week so I have been anxiously checking my email like every hour. I just want some news!

You are right, I'm usually more patient but the control freak in me is trying to claw its way out.

I second all of those. I like all of the netflix original series. I also recommend bates motel, Longmire, Rita (dry humor), hit & miss, and Top of the Lake .

Omg, it had me from the first one! (Whenever a patient argues vaccines aren't useful and says they cause autism - "You're entitled to your wrong opinion, that's fine.") Man, I wish I could actually say things like that!
