Did anyone else get the "Choosing the Right Graduate Program" e-mail from Chicago? That was fun. Also not an acceptance letter.

Yeah it didn't even include an application fee waiver for one of their cash cow Masters programs. Thanks for that junk mail, UC!

I got an e-mail from the Dean of the Graduate Division late last Friday (around midnight PST) congratulating me on my acceptance and a link to the application site to accept/decline their offer..

I have yet to hear anything directly from the department, though.

CONGRATS! I haven't heared anything yet from them, and my app still says "Under Review," so, I was just wondering.

Thanks!! I'll be sure to post here if/when I get more information.

I think someone here called and they said they were hoping to send out notifications this week, so hopefully you hear back (with an acceptance!) soon!

Hey everyone, I hope everyone is hanging in there. I was recently wait listed at the University of Cincinnati. If you were accepted there but aren't planning on attending please let them know soon. I am really hoping to get in.

Spoke with Columbia admin this morning (she was very nice). Not all PhD decisions have been made and the MA decisions have at least a few more weeks.

^ I spoke with Shamus Khan (the chair), and he said admissions HAD been finalized? :S

Oh this is seriously driving me crazy...I don't think they usually call international students though.and looks like they haven't sent out emails yet. just don't have the courage to contact the department..

Yeah, it doesn't seem like the emails were sent, since there are only 3 acceptances by phone in the results. I am trying to call them for while, but there is no answer.

Does anyone know if Michigan Soc and Public Policy decisions are released on a different timeline?

I just asked this question. I was told that Soc and Public Policy are both trying to get their e-mails sent by the end of the day.

Absolutely! Anybody have insight into what this wait list process looks like?

I was waitlisted for Michigan for the Fall 2013 admissions season. The director hinted at the fact that I was at the top of the list, and they would notify me as soon as something changed. It ended up that every single person offered admission took it. I will say that this is probably rare. Most people accepted to Michigan will get into other top programs and have to make a choice. The waitlist process is just waiting. Lots and lots of waiting. Generally you won't hear anything until late March, unless someone is certain they won't be attending early on. Just sit tight, try to stay positive and let them contact you. It is also in their best interested to get a hold of waitlisters as quickly as possible. Good luck!
