In the portals. Which I'm terrified that I'm not checking correctly.

Can anyone who's applied to Ohio state and been given an interview check their buckeye portal and see what it says? Mine says pending. I want to know if even people who definitely haven't been rejected say the same thing :)

I just looked mine up and my application status still says pending as well.

Does anyone know if Sarah Lawrence is still sending out interview requests? I haven't heard anything back from them at all. I didn't realize that our financial aid info needed to be in there as well so I just input that info, but I'm not sure if they were reviewing applications without the financial info or not...

I know @Ellaie has heard from SLC, but I don't think anyone else has?  The results from the last two years seem to indicate that they usually send out interview invitations early to mid February... so I'm trying not to worry too much.  Ellaie, did you submit your application ahead of the due date? (I didn't submit until the last day ).

@KeepSwimming2017 I have never heard of a school needing their financial aid application submitted before they will review your admissions application, where does it say that?!?!  I did just get an email about submitting my 2015 tax returns along with my FAFSA... now you've got me worried! I will get that in ASAP.

The results page shows people in the past also getting news through the schools' websites. Just one more place to check constantly.

For people who have heard from Pittsburgh, did you apply for the dual masters?

@Gadgette I did not apply to the dual MS/MPH program at Pitt.  It is possible that they would do an interview day just for those dual degree applicants, and send out the invitations in a different wave. I applied to the dual degree program at VCU and I believe that is what they did. I didn't hear back until 10 days after other people on this forum got interview invitations. Fingers crossed for you!

I couldn't remember, so I went back through my emails to figure out when I submitted.  It looks like I submitted the application 11/19.  All the parts of my application weren't submitted at that time though.  Two of my LOR writers didn't submit until 12/10 and 12/07 and my GRE scores weren't received until 12/06.

The SLC application status page allows you to see the interview dates and whether they're filled or not.  There are currently 5 interview dates available to select from and none of them are filled, so I'm sure they're still going to be sending out plenty of interview invitations.

I just called Cincinnati. She told me all the letters for interviews have gone out. But rejection letters won't be sent for a couple weeks. So everyone else waiting, bad news: Your interview is not coming. She looked me up in the spreadsheet and i've been rejected. That one stings. That's the one i wanted.

Whoa. Thanks for doing the leg work there. Originally I was only going to apply to Cincinnati, and planned to commute from Louisville if I got in, so I guess I'm glad I was bold and applied to 7 other programs. If I am going to end up moving my whole family, I'd rather know now.

@metabolismo well, I sent them an email today questioning that, because when I realized there was a financial aid tab on the application status page, I had realized I didn't input any FAFSA info. So then I emailed them and they said that they like to give out financial aid awards at the time they make the offer, so although I don't think that means that they won't review it until the info is entered, she did say it was best to do it asap. I wasn't in the country from Jan-Sept 2015 so I didn't file taxes for that year, so they required me to enter my parent's tax info. I'd say just do it as soon as possible =)

I hadn't put any of my financial info in until today when I received and email reminding me to do it, so I don't think entering the FAFSA information has anything to do with how quickly they review your application.

@GCFaith92 @Ellaie Do you guys know if USF does interviews before they make a decision? I know that seems like a stupid question, but I finally got my email that says my application has been forwarded to admissions for review, but then the next paragraph says:

"We will notify you of their decision, and should the department recommend your admission, your application will then be processed by USF's Graduate Admissions Office and an official admission decision will be made.  Please know that this comprehensive review process may take up to two months."

I don't know if it's just me, but the way I'm reading it is that it goes under review and then graduate admissions just makes a decision. For some reason that makes me even more nervous...

I just called Cincinnati and she said she was going to be sending out rejection emails starting today. I also, called Ohio State and they said that they were not done with phone calls yet. She said there would likely be at least two more waves of phone calls. On the bright side it sounds like they just started yesterday, so there's still hope.

I just got this email today as well!! I hate SOPHAS!!!! But I would assume they'd interview us. However, it is worded in an obscure manner so I am not positive. I would call to check in on this but I am at work until 8pm :-(

Finally received a rejection from the University of Michigan today... it hurts a lot more than I thought it would, haha! I had been preparing my heart for this for a while, but I still can't help but feel regret for all the time and money put into the application process for this one school xD Though I'm trying to grasp that it just wasn't meant to be. I guess now I can focus on other things now that it's finally come :P

I also just received mine. It does sting but we have awesome opportunities still coming our way! Good luck hearing back from the rest of your schools!

I no the sting. UNCG was my number 1 . I even drove to NC from NJ for a weekend to tour the campus and look at apartments to see if I could picture myself living in the area and my boyfriend and I both fell in love with NC. They got back to me and denied me. Said they loved meeting me but my GRE was too low and if I apply again next year that the rest of my application was impressive. All because a dumb standardized test. It really hurt, in fact I cried. But now thinking about it, it's for the best. I love the location more than the program itself. I know how you feel though because its pretty shitty. Try to keep your head up. We have about 2 to 3 more weeks to hear back from schools

My Cincinnati rejection letter just came, but when I talked her by phone yesterday though she said they wouldn't be "going out for awhile yet"?

I also called Ohio state this morning. She said several of us have:D. However, she told me there would only be one more wave "they were hoping to invite"? Your post pretty much perfectly summarizes how I feel: hope isn't gone yet.

Sending virtual hugs right now. Definitely understand tears after your first choice rejects you. Here's to hoping you get an AWESOME offer from an even better program!

@KeepSwimming2017 They definitely do interviews before they accept people.  I emailed the director of the program about whether my application would still be accepted due to the delay with SOPHAS.  She told me that as long as everything was in SOPHAS by the deadline they would look over it, but that they would start reviewing the other applications that had already cleared in SOPHAS.  She said the people who's application cleared late could still get interviews, but they likely wouldn't be until April.

@GCFaith92 I totally understand how you feel right now.  I just received my rejection email from Michigan, and it was one of my top choices.  I went to Ann Arbor to visit and check out the program like you did, and I didn't even get an interview.  Michigan used the same exact rejection letter from last year too.

Been long-time lurker but decided to make an account to join the wait!

I'm so nervous. Just got an interview at Sarah Lawrence but nothing else from all the other schools. I was anxiously waiting for any news, but now that I got an interview I'm anxious about the interview. Overall, this feeling is like happy but scary...not sure if I like it at all.

Hey guys! It's been a long time since I've posted here, so I thought I would check in!

Congrats on the interview offer! I can definitely understand the mix of emotions. For me I was relieved to have received any interviews, but now I am stressed thinking of travel plans, program costs, and what to expect at the interviews themselves. Speaking of SLC, I also just got an interview offer so maybe I will see you there! Out of curiosity, are you having any trouble picking a date and time on their website? When I tried to sign up for an interview time, I was redirected to another page that said "This form is for applicants to the Genetics Program only," even though the time I was trying to select still appears to be available on the calendar. Every other time slot does the same thing for me <_< I sent them an email but I have yet to hear back about it.

Good to know. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Yep. I didn't send them an email because I thought it'd be filled with them already.

I spent like an hour this morning trying to figure out what date is best...but I ended with two choices. Do you guys know if they'll accommodate for travel plans and lodging and any of that stuff? It's hard to make a decision otherwise (like the plane tickets for the dates are different).

The programs don't accommodate for any travel plans.  Some programs mention that students are willing to host applicants, but they'll mention that if it's an option.  SLC wasn't one of the schools that offered that.  Most programs will also provide lunch or snacks during the interview.

@bulbasaur I'm not sure what SLC is offering us as far as lodging, etc. My suggestion would be to contact SLC directly and inquire about it. Sometimes they have discounts for applicants who are booking accommodations, or they can even match you with current students of the program so that you can stay with them. It's worth asking about if you would like to find out before signing up for a time slot. It is annoying, though. I wish they would just give us that information BEFORE picking an interview time.

Thanks. That was the impression I got in general. It's kinda misleading how they say to pick an interview time, then they'll follow up with travel and lodging information...Got my hopes up.

Definitely really annoying...especially when we're still waiting for other schools and what not... Fingers crossed for NY schools but I wouldn't want to fly there twice in a month. That'd be a huge expense.

I just went and reread my email from SLC.  I was incorrect.  They are one of the schools that students offer to host applicants.
