Nope. As of 8:30 PST no email indicating I was accepted. Just going off what I see on the OSU portal right now.

Is it just me, or is it weird that you don't get an email that you got accepted?
I mean, just a standard "Your status has been updated. Please check the online portal." would be enough.

Yes, very weird, but I think someone else on here indicated that OSU's portal system is very slow.

Portal being slow is out of their control, but why doesn't the DGS or the admissions chair email those that were accepted? Seems slightly disorganized in its current state.

It does indeed. Maybe its another hurdle you have to master to "actually" get in? ;)

Just a quick update for everyone: my status on the OSU portal went from 'Pending' to 'Decision' this morning, with a congratulatory message inside. Don't know if it changed for anyone else.

Mine is still pending.

Actually, I was rejected by OSU last year and same things were happened. Change of status came first, then official e-mails were sent to those who were admitted. It makes me worrying about those 'pending' status (including mine too...).

My UT-Austin app is still with the committee...am I a pessimist for thinking this is a bad sign?

Don't worry. That can simply mean they didn't get to notifying you yet. Might be in an instant that you get an email with congratulations. Just relax. What happens, happens.

Wise words, thank you!

I'm good at giving advice yet very bad at following it. I stress about these things myself ;)
But right now, I am rather calm as results from my programs won't come for another week or so.

You guys, hang in there. And stay calm. You cannot change anything by being anxious. Go hang out with friends, have long brunch breaks (I go eat with several friends starting at 11am to about 130pm to take my mind of everything)

Yea, I am not feeling super confident about my odds.  I still see pending.  My only hope is the terrible system that is OSU's portal.  And the small number of late acceptances last year.  All-in-all, not much hope left for this one.

Congrats to all acceptances!!!

I couldn't really keep up with this thread for the last days, but I think I won't be able to avoid coming here everyday now that the first week of Feb is approaching. O the anxiety .-.

Yup, Harvard posts look like trolls.

Does anyone have any news from Berkeley? I was (unofficially) told that we would probably hear back during a one-week window starting today.

Also, congrats to everyone who's been admitted / wait-listed so far, and best of luck to all :)

I was under the impression they'd release decisions in mid-Feb?

Its really great to see a lot of people posting GREs/GPAs in the results since this is extremely useful information to future applicants.

Can I again seriously ask people though: post subfields.

If someone posts a desirable school acceptance with low Quant GRE scores but without a subfield, applicants wont be able to know whether to infer "this school not care about GRE scores" or "this school does not care about Quant GRE scores for Theory students."  Useful to theory and non-theory students alike (and same for verbal GRE and methods, political economy, potentially).

Likewise if a school sends out acceptances in batches (but perhaps rejections at the same time) it would be at least a bit useful to know if those batches were grouped by subfield or if it was something less clear than that.

A delay in emails may just be a matter of the system they are using. Some university systems run overnight, so the auto emails may be generated at the close of business or midnight, depending on the school.

Or it may just be the general slowness that can happen in academia sometimes ;)

I thought someone had insider info of Berkeley coming fairly soon? Also Princeton.

I don't see any program deviating from their usual practices. And by the end of next week is soon.
