does anyone know if UCSB has sent out all of the admission letters? I had no doubt that I would get into that school but I haven't heard anything yet....should I loose hope?

I got an acceptance call from an Irvine PI yesterday, and the email came this morning. I'm organic. Good luck!

Same here, but for analytical chem in UCLA. 

I emailed them, and they said we'll know by the end of february.

Rejected from Michigan, ironically my safety school (I'm also a Michigan resident). While I got into Harvard, Northwestern, Stanford and UC Berkeley. haha

Just received a rejection from Michigan,  my number 2 pick.  I've also been rejected by Minnesota today and MIT in the past.  I have been accepted to Wisconsin,  Penn State,  Ohio State and Utah.  Was asked to do a Skype interview for Case Western and am still waiting to hear from Illinois UC.

Congratulations, that's very exciting! Hopefully they are still deciding on applications then.

I'm also still waiting on Irvine! It was actually my top choice at the beginning because my advisor knows my primary POI there, so I'm hoping for a positive result.

I'm glad to hear that others are still waiting to hear back from Irvine as well. My status changed to "being reviewed" last week so I am hoping that they are just taking their time looking through applications. Good luck, I hope you hear back good news from Irvine soon!

In a list that included MIT (couldn't apply b/c I didn't take the chem GRE), the only school that my professor pointed out as "notoriously difficult"/"don't get your hopes up" was UW. ?
