It was very small. Only 10 students attended, not all committed. We had Alumni Ambassadors (no one from the school) so it was merely asking intros and questions about the experience! Bottom line, worth it to get my HGSE pen and confirm my desire to go...now to start my fund raising campaign!

Thanks for these great ideas! I too have been away a lot (went away to camp, boarding school and college). In fact, my mom andi have just recently (7yrs) been in the same state since I got married. Never thought about using some of those techniques to stay close to my hubby AND daughter! Thanks again!

Since my program is only 10 months, my hubby and I decided i would go alone (leaving him and my 5 year old very far away). Does anyone have any creative ideas to keep us in touch and close besides the obvious telephone/webcam!

Though I still can't blast it from the chimney tops, I would like to start a fundraising campaign. Gonna ask 600 of my closest friends and family to donate $100 each! (Or 6000 at $10!!!)
