left the little one out overnight because roommate wants her to be an outside cat doing pest control. little did it occur to us that there's a stray that hangs around, so last night comprised of loud shrieks from the kitty from fighting off the stray. and she was so scared that she wouldn't come in. I let her in this morning covered in chunks of mud. The dude cat was hissing from the scent of the stray, who probably tried to rape the little one, while the girl cat just sniffed her. we need to put that stray bitch down somehow. we tried the cage trap, but it was too smart for that. might have to get creative.

but then again, I never made the best of my experience. I always had the wrong priorities, which was usually something like overloading in classes so I can get the hell out of there. It wasn't worth it.

I was gone for 3 days, and someone was supposed to feed the cats (three of them; one of them my roommate's). they got fed, but none of the shit got scooped. nada. The litter box was packed down to the centimeter. and the small one took a shit on the floor next to the litterbox as soon as I got home, and almost pissed on the floor had my fast reaction not caught her and put her in the half filled litterbox that I cleaned out. they're good cats, so I'm not expecting to find any surprises.

go ahead, tell them to startup my unit on night shift without telling me, on the weekend, when we're short staffed, and nobody has a freaking clue what they're doing because they've neglecting this unit for the last 10 years. So now my unit's fucked up, and I'm supposed to fix it. our managers are jackasses.

don't you hate it when you're stuck working on a project with an annoying person who's a complete fucking nimrod? I'm having to reserve 80% of my patience with this guy ok, he's not an idiot.. but maaaan he's annoying as fuck!!

my boss thinks I'm too passive because I tried for months trying to get my projects pushed through, and this asshole who manages all the resources wouldn't lift a finger to help me. So now my projects are way behind, and I'm being blamed for it.

+1 on power brush. found out the other day I've been doing it wrong this whole time. you're suppose to brush at 45 deg angle into your gums. I need to floss too. plan is to do brush and floss at night and rinse in the morning. There was this broke author in New York who explained how he couldn't afford tooth paste, so for 5 years, he took one of those metal hooks to scrape away plaque around his gum. when he started making money, he went to the doctor, and they were shocked at how good his teeth looked. I just find that intriguing.

my delta dental is $150/yr. I've never used it though. The only thing I do use it for was a check up, where the doctor basically told me to floss or I'm going to lose all my teeth and die a toothless man. I'm considering cancelling it, because I don't have any problems with them

yea, oil and gas treat their employees well. I actually got the short end when I hired in. most people get a whopping package to help them move and a sign on bonus. I got a whopping $500 to relocate all my shit. Had I known that at the time, I'd have asked for more. but no, we don't really have financial advisors as far as I know. all I got was that $500 I told you about, which serves as an anecdote on how much my company sucks at retaining its employees. a coworker tells me that back when it still belonged to DuPont, we had twice the staff we have now, and every employee that comes in basically spends an entire week going over their money plans. we don't get any of that. nor did we get any type of formal training fresh out of college. anything unrelated to production and making Charles Koch more money is tossed to the side. sinking ship.

nice to see what other people do with their money. I'm just starting to get a clue. coworker's bf works in natural gas, straight out of college, just got a $10k paycheck, and invests 75% into his 401k. I can only assume that's more than what the oil refineries make. dude's gonna be chilling on his island by the age of 40.

Completely out of fucks to give with this company

I mean.. I don't plan on spending too much time on this stuff. I'd like to setup something and worry about maybe once a year. Put in for some stable investments, and hope the market doesn't get f*ked. maybe invest in some specific stocks that are looking up, like natural gas producers, pharmaceuticals, and whatnot. I mean you can always trade it if something doesn't look good.

I heard it's unwise to sell until you're 59 or something, because the government takes out more tax if you do. good thing is that my employer puts in 6% to my 401k, but I'm totally lost on what to put my money in. There were a whole bunch of options, and the only one I recognized was the sp500. I just picked mine based on their ratings. did you make an HSA account? I almost never go to the doctor, unless it's covered. But they're income tax free, so I guess it makes sense to keep a healthy stack there and fill it up as needed. who do you use to handle all your investments?

I got money sitting in the bank that I'm probably never going to use until I start a family or retire. What are you guys doing to invest?
