  1. Lol. I would love to rent one of those too! I emailed Todd and told him I need to know by March 20 to make a decision about another school so I'm hoping I get an unofficial response earlier. He said he would look into it and get back to me. I emailed both the profs but no one replied.. Not sure what to make of that..
  2. Oh also- Djentbot- who did you work with at CAMH? And what kind of work did you do? I'm just getting into it so wondering.
  3. Yeah I balled when I saw the rejection letter too so I only think I remember what it said. I could be way off. This is going to be one long weekend...
  4. The last 10 credits seem good for you too so I wouldn't worry too much.. (easier said than done). I tried that last year but Todd said they can't do that and the only thing he can direct me to is what was said on the letter re the reason I didn't get in. MA is dependent more so on academics? :'( Great..
  5. Those are pretty amazing qualifications for the MEd. I only had 6 months at the Distress centre and personal experience and I was waitlisted last year (#10). You have a pretty strong chance too I think!
  6. Also, I am currently in an MPsy Counselling psych program which is very clinical but I wanted more research as well as to continue on to a doctorate so.. I hope that helps lol. I had my letter professionally edited because that's all I had to show for myself haha. Yep, we'll see each other in class
  7. lol. I've been so hopeful for some reason. My last 10 credits is a 3.7 or something but overall is a 2.7 because I almost professionally botched the first 2 years of undergrad due to personal reasons. The strongest aspect of my application is probably my personal statement letter since I have average academic qualifications but on a personal level, I have a lot of experience with counselling and issues around it. I made sure this time I explained in detail my area of interest and took a paragraph each to talk about 2 POIs and explain why I should be working with them. I am solely relying on my personal statement to get it. So.. yeah.. I'll give up hope now. PS you can always take that course after your acceptance. I'd say you have a very good chance of getting in. So yay you!
  8. Okay Djentbot.. I give up. I'm getting off the forum now. lol!
  9. Last year I got my waitlist status for MEd and rejection for MA in the same mail. I am obsessed too. I cant get off this site or thinking about my mailbox. lol
  10. Yeah I dont think a lot of profs contact students. That one student was lucky, which is why I wanted more details. Todd is probably flooded by so many emails lol. But ugh.. that means, next week, we will probably know- if that one student heard and from what Todd said.. KMN
  11. This waiting game is killing me. Also- I hate weekends..
  12. He/she should share more details of the email and such here!! Please!
  13. I think it is possible as long as your application is strong. So dont give up hope I'm not sure about the part-time part. They need to send out the letters already!!
  14. I heard back March 27 last year and it was dated for the 22nd or something. So I think they will go out soon! They average your grades by taking your last 10 half credits or the equivalent that are relevant to the program and taking the average. They do have tough standards but I think it's more about showing you have a prof or two in mind to work with and explaining your interests for the MA program. Not sure about the MEd. I'm an applicant, but got this info from applying last year and from a student doing her PhD there now
  15. Anyone heard back yet?
  16. I think at this point, because the application is in and there is nothing we can do about it, it is best not to try to figure these things out so we can keep sane. Honestly, these things dont matter much because there have been applicants who have even been college lecturers and had other good positions that get rejected. So it's a complicated process. It's best to just do your best and wait it out. Now waiting it out and keeping sane at the same time, that's another ball game...
  17. Almost lost it when I read that the successful applicants may have been contacted already!! I was so tempted to make up an email like that and send to Todd to know where the results lie. lol. But I guess I'll wait. Can we keep this forum alive so we can get through the next few weeks! My counselling related experience- volunteering at the Distress Center Peel for about 6 months. Also volunteered in Ghana with orphans and at Alzheimer's society peel if that counts. You?
  18. 'Tis March! Only a few more days until those letters start getting mailed out!!!!
  19. And Todd told me late March. My letter last year was dated March 21 and a friend's was dated March 15. So I will start living under my mailbox starting March 15!
  20. Glad to see more people here!! I hope we can keep each other sane! I will definitely be checking this link more often now! For people who have reapplied- I'm wondering what improvements you made to your applications. Talk to you soon, Huma
  21. Could people who got it please share tips? My personal statment letter is good I think. I saw that we should really inform our referees and make sure they know our work well. Any other tips? Recommendations? I'm an MA counselling psych applicant and hoping to get it! Huma
  22. Um.. I come here hoping for some kind of updates because I don't know if I can actually make it through the next 3 months.. I need to know now! lol. (Was here last year. Doing my MPsy Counselling psych now but reapplied to UofT for MA and MEd with better letter and such *fingers crossed*) Hopefully this forum gets more busy so we can keep ourselves occupied? Cheers!
  23. " I should just give up hope now and save myself the trouble. Yep, I'll do that. I give up"
  24. I applied there too and thought they were accredited and fine. Question is- how am I going to pay their ridiculous tuition if I do get in :/
