I'm glad it helps you too! What else helps me is assuming a rejection lol and going on about my day, as much as I can, as if nothing has and will change. Keeps me sane and will help make it even sweeter if its an acceptance. My POI at ryerson told me that we should hear this week about the results so that's what's been driving me nuts. Its Wednesday!! Lol. But it'll come when it comes. Just got to keep as sane as possible and carry on. The body is definitely taking a bit of a beating from the stress though

Just thought I'd share something that has been helping my sanity and compulsive email checking.. I designate for myself the next time that I will be allowed to check my email, mostly an hour from now or so. That way I can look forward to check my email and still keep sane by not checking it every 10 minutes before that. lol. Just thought I'd share this and I hope it helps!

My experience with my interview at Ryerson was pretty good. My POI was very relaxed and we basically chatted about my interests, his, his work, what kind of supervisor I am looking for and so on. I've heard other people say theirs was more intense. During my interview, I ended up asking more questions that I was expecting, and I heard this is not out of the ordinary for interviews at this stage. Dress to impress. Formal but comfortable. Try to relax, I know it can be hard. Be yourself and see if they would fit with you jsut as much as if you would fit with them. Have fun. No one likes to interview someone who is nervous and puts other people on edge. So just be yourself, do your best, and have fun Good luck!

Is the open house for clinical or clinical developmental? Or are they both scheduled on the same date?

Thanks for that. You are definitely right. There is no point worrying about things that aren't in your control. This will be my third year applying to these programs, so I've come to learn that things work out either way. Luckily, that's why I'm not stressing too much. Thanks for your input

Thanks PsychStudent316! I'm not super bummed out though. I wasn't keen on moving to Waterloo anyway. And I'm still waiting on Ryerson which was among my top two. I hope you get to the interview stage! Who's your POI? I had applied to Dr. Moscovitch.

Did anyone apply to waterloo? Just got an email with a rejection. Wow. There wasn't a big match of interest, so I'm not really surprised but I thought they weren't as competitive as schools in Toronto. Guess I was wrong! Lol

Wow.. That is a little ridiculous.. I don't understand why they can't figure out this priority list before a poi is allowed to say they are interested and can interview. It's making this process so much more worse for the students! I'm hoping that the fact that my poi wasn't able to accept the past few years, has been with the program from before it started, and has students that are graduating out and looking for jobs this year helps me and him. It's a shame they put us through this...

One thing about the process that has confused me at Ryerson- I'm wondering if anyone can provide some feedback. My POI said that the recommendations will go in soon and I will hear within the next week. However, he said that the school creates a priority list of professors who are allowed to take students depending on funding. He said that he didn't make this list a few times previously, and doesn't have a grant this year. Also, there are newer faculty with funding who might make it before him. I find it weird that he be allowed to advertise as accepting students, interview a few of us, only to end up not being able to take anyone on. Does that happen... ?

Yeah they are in April for both I believe. But I think the schools get them sooner, which helps faculty decide between applicants as well. Wonder when that is

Oh Okay. MEd applicants seem to have heard back. MA decisions seem to be slower, although Todd told me today that all decisions have been sent out.

Yeah I already know I'm rejected because I emailed Todd back around the 18th of march to know. I just want to get that letter lol
