Not bad! Do you know how many they had last year? I was wait listed last year and they didn't tell me the exact number but they said it was a higher qualified pool than usual.

ImpulsiveNixie, I'm wondering if you know if the American Netflix has seasons 3 of Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey, haha. I'm considering sneakily changing my IP address to an American one because our Netflix seems so limited!

Dream: I will have a choice between my dream school (UBC in Canada) and an American program with funding. I honestly I don't know what I would do in that case! The Canadian masters is only 2 years but I can get my Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in the US. Hope: I will get into my top American program. Guess: I will get into one or two American programs. My stats are not that high and I have the disadvantage of applying internationally. You never know, though!

Haha yes, that's the evil of Netflix...it's so hard to turn it off! At least I only have my job to worry about now . I'll enjoy it while it lasts...

I'm somewhat ashamed to say that I've marathon watched Call the Midwife all weekend and have almost completed season 2! I love it and it did take the edge of my anxiety off .

I just wanted to add that every school has their own criteria and just because you may not meet one, no matter how competitive, does not mean you won't be a great fit for another. Good luck on your interviews!

I had an interview at the school I was wait-listed at last year, and it was actually pretty laid back. They wanted to know more about why I was applying to their particular program and why I was interested in audiology. They also wanted to know more about my research. Then they talked a bit about their program. Good luck!

Congratulations! I'm so nervous because that's one of my top schools...hopefully I'll be hearing something soon too!

If you look on ASHA EdFind there are many programs that accept a higher percentage than others, or accept lower GPA/GRE scores. I applied to schools with >35% acceptance rates and stats that were similar to mine. These programs are less competitive than programs that accept <10% of applicants and/or only accept 3.8-4.0 GPA, in my opinion.

It's just an open house...there is no mention of an official interview in the email. And I was talking about the University of Illinois Urbana-Champain! Honestly though, I already have kind of written off Iowa (no interview), Syracuse, and Urbana-Champaign because they were the first schools I applied to and when I went back to reread my letters after applying for my Feb 1 deadlines, I thought that they were ATROCIOUS! haha. They were generic and I repeated myself in a couple of places. Which is too bad because I really liked all of those schools. We will see...

Ugh, I know. I looked today and saw that someone was accepted at one of my top schools. The deadline was Jan 15 so I know it's still very early in the game but STILL!

Did anyone else receive an on campus visit invite for the University of Akron? I'm not sure if I should even respond to the email because it seems to be pretty generic. I won't be able to attend because I'm in Western Canada and am out of money after applying! Thoughts?

I just bought The Diving Bell and the Butterfly and My Stroke of Insight from Amazon, I can't wait to receive them!
