  1. Hmm. Thank you for posting this. I have been thinking that I was rejected because I did not receive interviews from a couple of programs when others have. On the other hand, I have also heard that interviews are to make sure you're not weird, lol. This is probably especially important for professional fields, where you will be interacting with clients on a daily basis.
  2. I'm not sure because my GPA after being converted by ORPAS was the same!
  3. VancitySLP, I don't know if it helps but last year when I applied to Dalhousie, UWO, and UBC my converted GPA was the same, whether it was a 4 or 4.3 scale.
  4. I think it's based on grades, the people with the highest stats usually seem to recieve funding.
  5. Ughhhh I just got my first wait list. Not sure how to feel about it. Glad I'm not rejected, I guess? Haha. What do you think the odds are on getting off a wait list?
  6. You still have 8 schools to hear from and you were waitlisted at your top choices! That's great. You're bound to get an acceptance from at least one of those remaining 8 schools (if you don't get pulled from the waitlist). I know how frustrating it is and being on the waitlist is truly it's own hell but hang in there...your stats are good and there's no reason you won't get into at least one.
  7. UGH THAT IS SO LATE! I think that Audiology acceptances go out later, too. Yay....and yes, Sue is AMAZING!
  8. @smrv I'm considering applying to NOVA for Audiology because I'm getting impatient and worried about not receiving an acceptance yet...I had a great interview at Bloomsburg yesterday though so I just don't know.
  9. I'm not sure about Computer Sciences but I know that McGill and McMaster are competitive schools, especially McGill. U of A is also pretty competitive. U of C is generally less competitive.
  10. I hope one of those wait lists turns into an acceptance for you! I didn't get any wait lists yet so you got me there.
  11. Try and remember that the more rejections/waitlists you get, the more acceptances you logically should get. You applied to a lot of programs so you were bound to be rejected at some. I know how it feels though because I'm in the same situation. Just curious but did you have any interviews?
  12. You applied to 13 programs and still have 9 to hear from so I'm sure you will hear from someone else! And you never know, maybe that school you've already been accepted to will end up being the perfect fit for you.
  13. It's possible that Dalhousie let people with funding know first? I know that this is what UBC did. I agree with you that we should probably stay off of these forums! haha.
  14. I'm in the same boat for Missouri...ugh.
  15. I think you should go for the program that is lesser known with more funding. I purposely selected programs that are cheaper because I do NOT want to be +100K in debt. Of course, I would likely be returning to Canada where perhaps prestige doesn't matter as much. Still, I think that quality of jobs is more dependent on how hard you work (which I know you would! ) and the connections you make than where you graduate from. Good luck deciding, all of your options are amazing ones!
  16. Just had a FANTASTIC interview! I hope I'll be hearing from them soon!

  17. I know, I'm so grateful to those who do decline their spots as soon as they make their decisions. It's the most considerate thing one can do in this process! I hope you get in off of your wait list.
  18. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS THREAD! I'm going insane. I hope you guys don't mind my jumping in your SLP thread--the Audiology forum is a lonely place because literally everyone else has received an acceptance...I'm debating applying to NOVA because I'm so worried I won't get in anywhere. I've been rejected at Iowa and Illinois so far. I had interviews at NIU and Bloomsburg. NIU did not go well at all. I haven't heard from Syracuse and Missouri and saw acceptances go out already. So, I am reasoning that I probably have 5 schools still in the running, including UBC. I don't even think I have much of a chance at UBC, so maybe just 4? Help! Should I apply to NOVA or just wait? Does anyone know if Akron, Bloomsburg, Wichita State, and South Alabama accept many international students? I don't have a back up plan if I don't get in. This is my second year applying and I will be absolutely crushed.
  19. I'm positive you will! I applied to 3 last year and also landed on one waitlist. Are you applying to your waitlisted school again?
  20. Canadian schools notify later so don't let the American acceptances freak you out! I keep reminding myself of this...
  21. dalsynic, I LITERALLY think that it is impossible for you to NOT get in to any of 16 schools you applied to, lol. I'm wishing I had applied to more than my 10 now!
  22. I'm applying to audiology but I'm in the same boat! I'm sure we will hear back soon!
  23. Now I have something else to be anxious about...I'm going on vacation to Mexico April 5-12. I REALLY hope I know where I'm going by then and I won't have to worry about being in contact with schools then...
  24. I'M GOING INSANE WAITING FOR UBC!!!!!!! Hopefully we hear next week/early the following week!
