Gendertreachery, When people have bad experiences, it tends to shape their views. Perhaps, he or she had a bad experience with the CUNYs I have to admit my experiences, so far, have not been the greatest. However, I feel the education received is pretty good for the money. I still have yet to hear from Brooklyn College. It is now May 5th. That speaks volumes...

Misshopeful, did you have an interview? I have not had an interview and I have not been denied. I received a letter in the mail from them but it was about their link to their site not being crypted and the possible leak of my SSN. I thought it was my denial letter.

I am beginning to see that. I won't even go into detail on the experience I had with Lehman College. Unfortunately, they are all I can afford unless I hit the lottery. I will extremely disappointed if I do not get at least an interview at this point.

I am still waiting and praying to get an interview from Brooklyn College. Sadly, I think I will get a late denial and I do not think that is fair. Why hold on to my application all this time for a rejection? I was told yesterday I still can be called in for an interview. Who knows at this point if they've reached their admission limit?

My GPA for SLP is 3.53. My overall GPA is 3.38. However,my GPA for my BA which I did over 10 years ago is 3.06. My GRE scores are poor, 145Q 146V 4.0 AW. However, I do have a MS and that GPA is 3.75. Best of luck to you... I have not heard back yet either. The Grad Deputy sent me an email stating decisions will be sent out within the next month

Samrah, It really does not matter whether you do an MA or an MS in SLP. Both will give you the tools needed to find a job and you will find work with either. Someone mentioned in another post elsewhere that they do not even know which any of the SLPs they work with received for their Masters.

Smrv, You are correct. They told me they will interview more people if many from first wave decline their admission. Here's to hoping many decline. I am praying those accepted got better offers or were accepted to other CUNYs

Exactly, if they have no intentions of interviewing an applicant just give their name to admissions so portal can be changed.

Sadly, it will be a while. You told me about 100 people got interviews. Do you recall if they mentioned more will be interviewed? I just don't understand why they would delay sending out denials...

Below is the response I received from the school this morning: The admissions committee sent out their first "wave" of acceptances and denials a couple of weeks ago. If you weren't contacted yet, that means you are likely to be part of the second "wave." The answers that are sent to the second wave largely depend on the feedback we receive from the first. Unfortunately, the college is on spring break right now and it won't be over until next Wednesday. The admissions committee is not available during the break, therefore, this slows our process of contacting our applicants. We truly appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay. Let us know if you have further questions. I think I am going to get a delayed denial I asked if they were still interviewing...I am still waiting for an answer

Not many schools will let you take classes on grad level without being accepted. There are a few schools, not many. Those courses would not go to your undegrad GPA

I am still waiting on Brooklyn also... I never got an interview. I am hoping that I am granted one and this is not just a late denial. I wish you luck. Today's the deadline accepted Brooklyn College applicants have to accept their admissions' offer. Hoping I am pulled in for interview...even if it is last minute.

I am in the same boat. I am still waiting and still feeling optimistic I will get into the final school I am waiting on... My Plan B is to retake the GRE. I will have to also rewrite my SOP.

I am an out of field applicant and have not been accepted. If the schools you apply to state prerequisites must be done before applying and you haven't completed them, it is a safe bet to say that's why that your application would be denied. I would think if the program you're applying to does not require prerequisites to be completed and you are still denied, your application was not competitive enough (GPA, GRE, personal statement).

Group work yes...for sure Many test and reading research articles Writing absolutely, but I say mostly test.
