  1. Thank you, MangoSmoothie!
  2. Are the range GPA's listed on the ASHA website of those accepted to various programs, or is it the range of those who applied?
  3. Mines still says that CUNY Brooklyn notifies in waves
  4. with Lehman, know the five components of language know the difference between a language disorder and speech disorder and give examples
  5. Congrats! I hope you get accepted. Brooklyn College is a great school. I took two classes as a non matriculated grad student there. if you get accepted, be prepared to WORK!
  6. I was denied from Lehman for the third time. I am beginning to feel they are biased. I took my prerequisites there and I can not tell what I experienced as a minority. I did have an interview with a while back and I was the only black woman that was interviewed. Go figure...
  7. Not necessarily some schools work in waves in letting applicants know
  8. No, I'm still holding out.
  9. Actually, this is my second year applying to graduate school. I took the grad SLP classes after being denied admission. I've reapplied to the same school I took the grad courses and obtained a LOR from one of my grad professors. I hope it does make a difference. This was my third time taking the GRE. I hope it was my last! I can't seem to do well in the quantitative portion.
  10. I had to retake the GRE. V152 Q141 AW 4.0 GPA post-bacc 3.53 for SLP However, i took two SLP classes as a non matriculated graduate student. I hope that will have some pull because I did good in the classes.
  11. It really depends on the school. Some schools have more spots than others. One particular school gave me the break down. They received about 600 applicants and conducted 300 interviews. Thirty students were granted admission.
  12. It all depends on the school. I have been to one. It started out with a warm up questions like what are your hobbies. Then I was asked slp questions.
  13. I did 25 observation hours at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, NY They have a program.
  14. I am not understanding. What type of post bacc program are you referring to? SLPA? You have already taken the courses needed for entrance to a SLP program with your Bachelors. All your transcripts must be seen by grad admissions offices. The question to ask admissions' offices is which set of grades will be looked at if you retake the classes...
  15. I am 35 with no children, looking to get into grad school this fall. I can't relocate due to work obligations. I'm also limited to where I can apply for financial reasons. My GRE scores the third time around are not the greatest but meet the minimum requirement for the verbal and writing portions. I stink in math!
  16. I would mention you had some adversity such as family with medical issues but not go into great detail. Express how you would now deal if these same issues came to surface.
  17. Yes, Mercy does...
  18. I know Lehman College and Brooklyn College allow part-time status. I must attend part time as well due to work obligations.
  19. This is also my second year applying. I'm limited due to financial and job reasons. I have a slightly better GRE score and better SOP. I also obtained another LOR.I hope to get in this year too!
  20. For one of the schools, I sent all three scores. For another school I sent only the highest score. I hope sending all three does not make me look like a unqualified candidate. I think made a mistake and sent the score twice to the same school. The second time I requested the highest score and the first time all three. This is my second time applying and I really want to get in this time around.
  21. I have taken the GRE three times. My last test has the highest verbal score, but my second test has a higher quantitative score and a AW score of 4.0. I am not sure what the score is for AW this last test. Should I send all the scores or the highest of the three?
  22. I had to do the same and personally drop a LOR off because my SOP never made it despite being mailed way before the holidays. The school allowed me to email my SOP which was then attached to my application. I do understand your frustration. You spend a lot of money for the application to be reviewed and it would be a waste of money for your application not to be reviewed on account of their error! I have seen that happen to someone in the Fall 2014 application cycle.
