  1. Thanks for the info Hopefully you'll get good news soon.
  2. I hate to ask this, but to the person who posted a result from Ottawa, was the notification from the grad school or from someone within the psychology department? Did they update your InfoWeb account? GL on the rest of your apps!
  3. They finally updated mine this last week, so there is hope!
  4. Thanks! They never said the documents had been received, only that this isn't unusual at this stage of the game and that they're still processing paperwork. They said to call back towards the end of the month if it still doesn't show it's updated. Fortunately, everything they don't have is something that can be emailed, so I'm good with that! This waiting is so nerve-racking.
  5. Should I be concerned if UOttawa still hasn't updated my application documents even though they received the package a month ago? I've called and emailed and they say everything's fine, but is this normal?
  6. McMaster, Trent, Carleton. Not one of those deadlines has passed, so in limbo is where I sit.
  7. I'm an American student who would do almost anything to go to school in Canada. "Almost anything" does not include going to Windsor after taking a tour of the city and of Detroit as well. Not trying to be mean, but I couldn't do two years in Windsor, let alone five plus for a PhD. I thought that even if Windsor itself wasn't all that great, there's always a large US city right across the bridge. In order to maintain a respectful tone, I will not share publicly what I thought about my one night in Detroit, but let's just say that I saw enough and NOPE. Absolutely not.
  8. Says: Sorry, there is a problem The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. Error code: 2C171/1
  9. University of Toronto invitee, congrats! Can you share which program?
  10. U of Toronto is my dream school. I'd do anything to get in there, though I understand my chances are slim being an international student and all I haven't heard from any schools yet, but three of those deadlines haven't passed and Ottawa is still sorting through applications.
  11. U of Toronto, U of Ottawa, McMaster, Trent, Carleton. Child clinical/developmental programs. (If you know anything any of those programs, feel free to share!)
  12. I'm right there with you. It's torture. I can only think of one other time in my life that I've been this anxious. We didn't apply to any common schools, though!
  13. I've requested the book from my library. Can't wait! I wonder how this works for Canadian schools that don't require the GRE. I've always wondered how they sort through all those applications without a cutoff.
  14. I've been a member of TGC since sophomore year, and I've known all along that I would be applying to Canadian schools. However, I had no appreciation for how awful/stressful it is for Canadian applicants to watch this flurry of activity for US schools while. you. wait. and. wait. and. wait. I've seen a very little bit of activity for Canadian schools (Waterloo, UBC), but not much. This anxiety is killing me!
  15. Hi crd251, Sorry that I am so late to the game...I applied to 7 clinical programs focusing on sleep research for fall 2016. Would love to hear more about where you ended up applying ! I applied to work with Dr. Hall. I also had contacted Dr. Carney, but after talking to the chair at Ryerson it seemed highly unlikely to get funding as an American in Canada - and they told me that they had never accepted a foreign student before to the program. I figured it was unlikely I could be the one to change that 20 year precedent.
  16. Knowing that Canadian programs don't usually get ramped up until after the first of the year is the only thing that's keeping me sane right about now. Two of my five don't even close applications until Jan 31st/Feb 1st, so I have a looooooooong wait...
  17. Fortunately, I am doing an honors thesis. I just wondered how many people don't have that opportunity since the numbers are 20 out of 1900 at my school, which I've always found shockingly low, but now I understand why. So I wondered about people who might not have had that opportunity and how they apply to grad school in spite of it, you know?
  18. Thanks for clearing that up! It took me a while to realize that Canadian schools even have a 3 year degree. Makes perfect sense about the change in high school and subsequent change in the college degree.
