  1. Happened to me a few years ago, BUT it was because I was an international student and the prof didn't have their own funding.
  2. Curious, where did you see that? I just talked to the person responsible for SSHRC at my school, and she said results won't be out until later this month for doctoral SSHRC. Not sure about MA SSHRC, though!
  3. Started undergrad at 33, master's at 38, starting a PhD program at 40. Professors I inteviewed with said my life/work experiences were what caught their attention.
  4. Dang, U of T doesn't release OGS results until mid-July?
  5. +ve regard I think was accepted to the SCCP program. I was accepted to the DPE program.
  6. Definitely not just for clinical, because I didn't apply to clinical. Also, I have no idea what my status is because I see a lot of rejections went out yesterday, but I don't have an email and my status on the portal hasn't changed. Probably waitlisted because I've had no contact from the school, either.
  7. Sorry to hear that. Do you mind sharing how you got the results (portal, email, etc.)?
  8. The grad secretary at Concordia said today that all first-round invites were sent out and she's s working on sending out decisions.
  9. Is it still possible to check this if you are not a current U of T student? I know it used to be possible with ROSI.
  10. That "under review" never changes (mine was still under review from 2 years ago), so that portal is not very informative. From what I understand, the committee met late January and the profs had to have their selections in the first week of February. Informal offers have been extended, and official letters are going out early March-ish.
  11. I would absolutely pass that on. If not directly to the prof, to the grad secretary who can share that info with the relevant people.
  12. Interesting. I've been wondering about Calgary. I haven't heard anything one way or the other and assumed rejection, but that's very interesting about the waitlist. I wonder how many people are on it. Was the person you communicated with a person by the initials BG?
  13. When I applied in 2016, my student visa only took a week or two from the time of application. IRCC was very, very quick, so I didn't need an early decision. YMMV.
  14. You are such an inspiration! Thank you for coming back to TGC.
  15. That is hugely comforting. I've been wondering about that program and if anyone had heard from them.
  16. I know that Calgary sends out their invite earlier in January. I'm assuming rejection since I haven't heard anything. Not sure about the rest for clinical, although I have seen some of them popping up in discussion (like Ryerson)
  17. I'd bail. I know the lost time is awful and it seems like a huge step back, but 7 years out of undergrad is not that old at all. This is the education you will have for the rest of your life, so if multiple people are telling you you're not getting what you're paying for (!), I'd listen to them.
  18. When you say "invites," do you mean to an open house or interview?
  19. This is a great question and something I've wanted to know very much myself, but these results are going to be skewed due to the fact that people who got in are not as likely to still be on this board as people who did get in. (Awesome people like Faceless and Noor aside)
  20. Me too, although I'm assuming rejection at this point with no contact from Calgary.
  21. As much as waiting patiently is torture for me, I completely agree. The chances of the response being "Why, yes, you're accepted and we just forgot to tell you" is next to zero, so I can't imagine any good news coming from such a contact. I do things to occupy myself like check TGC a million times a day instead.
  22. I'm applying for PhD programs this time around Best of luck to you!
  23. Re: Concordia, someone in this thread said that the Concordia invites were for the clinical health program or something like that and that developmental and some other department send out their invites later. As a former international applicant, I understand completely. I found out after I got here that due to funding, no matter how stellar you are as international applicant, it's hard to overcome the fact that the school basically has to pay twice as much for a proper funding package for an international student as for a domestic one. Any chances you can immigrate to Canada first?
  24. I see that there's been nothing from Concordia, and we all know OISE is later in the game. Has anyone heard from Calgary?
