  1. Congrats, Faceless! I hope you report back with some great news. I get the feeling that Ryerson is particularly funding-sensitive...best of luck!!!!
  2. Rejected from UOttawa and OISE. Was completely expected. I realize after having gone through this process that I really do need more hands-on research experience that wasn't available to me due to the fact I work full-time, etc. I am so excited to start a master's program to get that experience and try again in two years.
  3. I'm starting to think that acceptances come via email/phone, and rejections come via snail mail with no update to the portal. Check out the results from OISE and you'll see what I mean. I'm assuming rejection at this point.
  4. It's pretty awesome. Signed, Native Pacific Northwesterner Seriously, though, UW is the only place in the States I considered applying. Love Seattle (originally from Portland)!
  5. Consider what the next four years have the potential to look like in the US and stay where you are. That aside, finances, funding, location, program fit?
  6. Nope. The graduate admissions assistant said today that they are still reviewing and the first round of letters will be going out soon.
  7. It really is. And for a while there, I was assuaging my anxiety by reading all the posts on TGC, but even that seems to be drying up now. Good luck to all still waiting!
  8. Uh-oh. Now it's *really* time to deal with that whole metric/imperial system problem I have. It's logical but has no meaning for me. You say 50cm and I have to look up how much that is! Snow>>>>>horrible heat and humidity. I've done both and much prefer snow. Best of luck with Saskatchewan!!
  9. Got my very first official (expected) rejection today from UOttawa. Fortunately I got my first unofficial acceptance from a master's program a few days before that, so I'm still pretty happy! Au revoir, USA!
  10. Has OISE sent out any rejections/acceptances aside from a few in the results section?
  11. Hmm, good to know. Thanks! ETA: Is that for the PhD or the masters, or do they do them at the same time?
  12. I know for a fact at least one Ottawa professor has contacted people, had interviews, etc. She was one of my POIs there. So I'm kind of chalking that up as a rejection as well, but that's okay. I'm starting to realize that to truly be competitive, I probably need to do a master's first. And I'm okay with that!
  13. Agree with catlady4lyfe (on the post and the cats!). My favorite psych instructor at community college had a master's degree.
  14. If I had a dollar for every time someone (not a psych major) said, "Oh, you have a great GPA! You'll get in!" ... No matter how many times I try to explain the "stars must align" concept and that it's so much more than just GPA, I get this blank stare.
  15. Not a peep. I'm chalking this up as a rejection. But that's okay!
  16. I read it as .05 for regional conferences, undergrad conferences, etc., versus 1.0 for national conferences, and the two posters in question were accepted at APA, as opposed to the first two being an undergrad and a regional conference. Doesn't matter because I've heard nothing from the school in question anyway, so I guess it's moot. Thanks, everyone Don't know how I'd maintain what little sanity I have left at this point without TGC!
  17. I was the main presenter on one of my third-author posters.
  18. Has anyone heard from McMaster, Trent, or Carleton?
  19. I'm really sorry to hear this as well. Hang in there...
  20. Any OISE people mind PMin'g their POIs? Would be greatly appreciated!
  21. I don't know if this is public or not, but if you can't see it, let me know. Is this what you're talking about? It's from a few years ago. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E9TbpYk16w8PIO1DfzPZwXKaSk0P2QQEhnAwS09HQB8/edit#gid=0
