Got accepted to Grand Valley State University today, yay

There isn't much funding for professional degrees so most of us end up paying for at least part of our degree.

I honestly believe that Spanish would be much more desirable, given the large number of Spanish speakers in California (and other parts of the country). However, if you plan to specialize in working with specific populations where knowledge of ASL would be beneficial or essential, it would probably be best to take ASL courses.

Accepted at California State University Eastbay. Feeling blessed as it was the only school I applied to...Got in with a 3.65 Major GPA and an overall GPA of only 3.24. I volunteered at a hospital in the stroke unit and at an Aphasia clinic. I complete about 80+ hours. I'm also involved in international charity work. If anyone out there who is feeling discouraged--DO NOT GIVE UP! Anything is possible! <3

GUYS. I just got off the waitlist at U of I! I thought I was already done for and was literally in the process of registering for more prerequisites for next fall after giving up all hope. IT IS NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU! Keep your hopes up!

Positive note: Another year to gain ever more experience within the field. Opportunity to save more money for grad school. Opportunity to strengthen my application that could possibly appeal to even more schools: dream schools. When it finally does happen, it will be the best day, knowing how hard I had to fight for it. Once I am in,  you bet your a** I am not going to take the opportunity for granted. Once I am in, I have a feeling that It will be the place I was meant to be in all along.
