Just to update, shortly after I posted, I GOT ACCEPTED!

Hey, congratulations!
I did my undergraduate at McGill. The education is second-to-none but the administration can be... Challenging. So, if your program recommended you, then you are IN! And the system will probably update your status sometime before the end of the Year of the Pig. LOL. 

I just got my acceptance.

I applied to MA in Music Tech (the exact same program they said they recommended me to), but my status in the system is still "In Review"... Well, it's good to know that's a piece of positive news!

I don't think it's necessarily a hindrance, and it could well be a plus. If you're applying to political science Ph.D. programs in the hopes of getting a degree that'll help you in public policy, though, I'd be very careful—most programs aren't geared toward doing that, so I'd be sure that there's a strong public policy component to the programs you're exploring.

After what felt like an eternity of waiting, I got my first acceptance today! I checked my application to the University of Saskatchewan and it said "Department Recommend-- Conditional." I'm assuming that the condition will be to send my final transcript with proof of graduation, because I had to send my transcripts in before all of my final courses had been graded. 
 
I am thrilled and delighted and over the moon! No matter what happens from here out I will be going to graduate school in the fall! Today is a very good day.
