  1. Hi all, Do any of yall know of any programs that specifically value "older" students over recent graduates? To clarify, I mean schools that like students that have had a lot of experience relating to communication disorders? Also, I can't filter out on EdFind which schools offer spring admissions. Could anyone help me out by telling me the ones they know do offer it? I already know UTD, Southeastern Louisiana, UL-Monroe, and ENMU offer. Anywhere else? Thanks.
  2. I applied for their leveling program. Ive taken several classes from them. email Suzanne swift and she'll tell you how to apply.
  3. I'm taking Aural Rehab right now through ENMU's online program, and I like it.
  4. I just wish my LSU gpa wasn't haunting me so much.
  5. I just heard back this morning too. not favorable, but it's okay.
  6. the only thing I'm worried about is my LSU gpa from 6 years ago. embarrassingly low, but I did so much better with my prerequisites. I'm hoping that, my recs, resume, and statement were my saving grace. good luck, ladies!
  7. Perhaps the prequisite thing was what got me. I haden't taken observation yet. Also, I didn't double-space my statement. I didn't discover that until after I already turned it in that it needed to be done.
  8. I'm in it right now and I love it. I started last semester, and have already taken majority of the prereqs at a university near me, so Ive only taken a few courses with ENMU. I took language science, language disorders, and language development last semester and got all A's. everything last semester was open book and that really helped me a lot since I was working full-time. language disorders, there were no lectures to stream just hand outs and chapters to read and quizzes and projects were based on that. this semester I'm taking neuro, speech science, and aural rehab. little tougher than last semester, but I'm not overwhelmed. and like previous posters said, only neuroscience's final is proctored. All the professors I've had so far are great too, and two even wrote me recommendations.
  9. I'll take your word for it. I'm slowly losing my patience with each passing day. really hoping this is my year.
  10. My name starts with an E, and I haven't heard anything. Uh oh...
  11. Psych? I think she's talking about a 2nd bachelor's in COMD.
  12. I'm in the exact same boat as you. This is my 4th year applying, and so far have been rejected from three schools. I'm starting to get a little discouraged over here, so I understand how you feel. I'm 28, graduated 6 years ago, an my UG GPA is still haunting me. Definitely "shop around" and find out from different schools what specifically they are looking for in a candidate including the ones who rejected you. Seek additional advice other people about what to put in your statement, explain in your statement why your UG GPA is low while also assuring them you are ready for graduate school, maybe reconsider retaking some courses to get your GPA up. Your GRE can definitely change. I got a tutor this year and I went up about 6 points from last year. Also, maybe look at schools that offer spring admissions. Less people apply for spring.
  13. I hope it's favorable for me. All this talk is making me nervous.
  14. oh I see what you're saying. it's okay.
  15. Thanks. It's so frustrating waiting this long. Good luck to you too!
  16. Still haven't heard from UH yet, despite the fact that many applicants already received their notices. Gawsh.
  17. The "Low GRE" thing is very untrue. They're minimum requirement is a 296, and not meeting that was the exact reason why I was rejected last year.
  18. Well? Apparently they started sending out emails this week. Haven't heard anything!
  19. Has anyone heard from ULL yet? It looks like applicants last year heard around this time.
  20. I heard UH started sending acceptance emails today. Yipe. Good Luck!
