Finally got closure. 0/3. Honestly, really frustrated considering I worked my ass off to present at 2 conferences and get a publication in a top journal as a masters student. Maybe academia isn't for me.
Still waiting on Maryland. Judging by the results page, I think some other people are as well. Frustrating that they are taking this long but at least I'm still not rejected.
I'm also waiting on the University of Maryland but more optimistic than 2ManyTacos. If any ladies have received their fair share of good news, I'd be more than willing to take it off your hands.
I am feeling pretty angry about this whole situation. I have gotten two rejections and waiting on a third, and last, application decision. I did everything I could to put myself in a great situation (2 conferences, 1 publication) as a masters student in Communication yet no bites yet.
I understand you are feeling anxious in your situation but at least take some consideration that some of us have gotten ZERO acceptances and are still waiting for the axe to fall on us or a miracle.
Has anybody heard from the University of Maryland's Communication department, specifically their Rhetoric and Political Cultures department? They are my last hope, and I thought I was a very good fit. Good luck to everybody!
31 here. Left my job in corporate consulting after five years to pursue my PhD. Graduating in the spring with a Masters in Rhetoric and Politics but still waiting on three schools. Feeling pretty pessimistic staring going back to work in the face, especially since my wife and I will be starting a family this year. Almost feels like the end of the line already.
I've only gotten into two programs so far, both masters programs, one definitely not funded. Hard to not feel discouraged about this entire process but trying to keep my spirits up for the hailmary.
I was accepted without funding as well. I'm not actually considering attending though because I have another masters program offer that is 2 years, and I don't want to be rushed into writing a thesis in 9 months. The reviews I have read make it sound like the professors really do not care about the MAPH students and thus a severe disadvantage.
