Congrats! Emory tends to decide who gets waitlisted and who gets accepted from their invited list.

Shortlist for Emory in Comparative Literature. They have invited me to visit and meet faculty (all paid so good?).

Around the 25th-27th of this month using past indicators. People have noted being notified via Phone, E-mail and Website so I imagine we'll know as soon as they release decisions.

@Warelin Congratulations on Illinois! You must be so excited.
Yes, I'm getting the sense that I'm not at all prepared for the next six weeks. My original plan was to apply to 17 schools, but I stopped after my eleventh application. I probably should have applied to 17...

Another Chicago interview.
The Good:
- Might mean that emails are still being sent.
The Bad:
- One more spot taken (how many people get interviewed?)
The Ugly:
- How worn my Email-refresh-button-pushing-finger is becoming.

Or maybe the person that's assigned to e-mail you is on a lunch break? It's only 1:00 in Chicago.
Positive thoughts.

From what I remember of previous cycles, Tennessee has a habit of sending out rejection letters before sending out acceptance letters. This makes sense because it allows people to not be waiting too long. As a result, I think their acceptances for the PHD program might come out this week. Waitlisted applicants might have to wait a bit more.
Good luck!

ACCEPTED TO ILLINOIS AND NOMINATED FOR A FELLOWSHIP!

Schools often notify special fellowship winners before they notify other people of their acceptances. As far as I know though, Harvard has always funded everyone equally.
ETA: This isn't the first case of Harvard notifying by phone. It seems like one's POI can call an applicant first. This could be followed by a letter from the DGS. Based on that, e-mails can go out as early as next week. Harvard and Yale have also usually notified a day apart so it would be interesting to see if Yale will notify soon as well. Lots of admission decisions have come in early this cycle. We may be looking at early decisions from all schools.

Columbia interviews for certain subfields. People have been accepted without an interview request. Following past trends, interview requests will go out next week!

FWIW: A program I spoke (I can't remember if it was in Rhet/Comp or English) said that their program does include the work cited page in their count. They told me that I should cut the works cited page if I'm over the limit. Other directors have said other things. I ended up cutting a different part because I felt the works cited page was too important to cut. YMMV.

I just got waitlisted for a Gender Studies program -- first non-rejection in two years; I suddenly feel like maybe I have a chance.
