Yes. It’s a little different each year, but I believe Photography accepts only 2 people, Painting and Sculpture 3-4 each and Transmedia seems to accept about 2-3 people. 

I read this on the reddit /r/gradadmissions sub and it really helped my perspective - from the chair of an admissions committee 
 

For people who have gotten into all/most of their programs - would you mind sharing any tips about how you approached your apps? I’m on the waitlist at a couple places and am thinking I may have to apply again next year. Wow congrats! Would you be willing to tell us how the process has been with them? What was the interview like? How did you approach the application? Is there funding? There’s so little info about them on these boards and it would be amazing to have some insight.

In case anyone is keeping an eye out for University of Iowa, I just got an acceptance email yesterday from the painting program.

I just got a call from SAIC photo about an acceptance and a dean fellowship! 

About an hour ago, I received an invitation to interview from SVA for Graphic Design. The interview is for Monday ?
I think they sent them all out at the same time, because they accidentally put another person's name in the subject line. Harbor, if you are here, good luck!

Over the moon to be offered a place at Tyler painting, it seemed such a long shot! Are any others for Tyler on here? 
Email said the dean has a fund for incoming MFA students to visit regardless of distance, but I may be taking the biscuit being from Ireland ???

Me too! How many emails can we get from UCI that are basically meaningless???

Feeling nervous about Rutgers and Columbia starting to send things out. I haven't heard anything and keep checking my email and application status. I don't have cell service where I am which is making me even more anxious about Columbia since they're doing phone calls. Guess I'll just keep waiting!

Nothing from Rutgers here. Was so sad they didn’t send out interviews/rejections this weekend. Hoping it’s SOON!

Photography. The connection was so terrible I couldn't tell what he said his name was, and was so nervous I forgot to ask. May have been an advisor, not sure.

I don’t know what they will do this year, but in previous years it looks like they sent out rejections along with interview requests. Hoping they do that again this year so we won’t have to wait any longer either way!

I did a little digging through previous forums and I’m thinking we may hear from Rutgers this week sometime. Last couple years it was right around the 9th or 10th of Feb - so maybe this Friday?!? Their interview day is March 1st so I can’t imagine they make us wait much longer, especially for those who will have to travel.

For painting, they said they're taking 3 for sure, but they're trying to see if they can get 4. There are 8 painters currently in the program now.

Haven't seen on here yet.  I'm still holding out hope because usually at least one person on these boards will hear something. Also not a single area from the UCLA mfa has gotten any traction on here so I'm hoping they're behind schedule this year?
