Mesa, One Miramar, and Mesa Nueva are all together on the other side of the 5. However, you can easily hop on the bus and take that over to campus. Rita Atkinson is on campus and it's furnished. However, last time I checked, you can't park anywhere near Rita Atkinson. So, that's a pain. Coast apartments have the best location (with views of the ocean), but you won't get in there. 
I lived in One Miramar (OMS) for two years and enjoyed it. My husband and I had a two bedroom apartment. The bathroom situation is a bit weird. There's one room with a toilet and a sink and another room with a sink and a shower. Almost all of the units in OMS have a balcony (or patio on the first floor). Also, there's a lounge, some green space, and a ping pong table. You can walk over to Mesa Nueva and use the pool there too. The biggest downside is that you have to park in the parking ramp and walk to your building. 
Mesa is old, but spacious. There are parking lots around the buildings, which makes parking there somewhat more convienient. The units at Mesa all have balconies/patios too. 
Mesa Nueva is brand new, but it does feel very crowded (like everyone is on top of you). Also, the studios are extremely small. So, I would encourage you to think about that carefully before committing to one. They have a parking ramp over at Mesa Nueva, so the parking situation is similar to OMS.

Hi! I lived on the Range during my two year MA program . I was on Selections Committee that first year and was the Vice Chair of Selections during my second year. It's a competitive application but truly holistic. The rooms are small, absolutely, and you'll have to get creative with cooking or (as I did) get a university meal plan. The bathroom situation is not a problem at all, haha. I lived on both East and West Range, so I can speak to both sides of the Range. In short, I loved my time there. 
And yes, it is Grounds.
Shoot me a PM if you'd like more information on the Range - while I've obviously been out for a couple of years, I'm pretty sure I can answer almost any question you will have. 

I can't help you much with different housing options and comparing them as I'm just starting (and just signed a lease for an apartment off grounds, but I've received advice to snatch up a place ASAP because Cville is tiny and housing is very limited. This may be different if you live on grounds, but regarding finding your own place I've already found it to be very true. Rent is high and places are already being rented (and not just me). 
A current student in my dept advised me to use the Off Grounds Housing portal, but you need to already have accepted their offer and received a university ID. 
I found my place on Craigslist. Otherwise, sites like BRAC, Hotpads, Zillow, and others are useful.

I've been using brac.com to find places. It's solely for the Charlottesville area. There's also sites like Zillow, Craigslist, Padmapper, Trulia, and others but yeah it's difficult to judge the landlords and whatnot.

Charlottesville has a decent walkability score, especially downtown and the university area. I don't have a car, but plan to get a bike. I know the public transport isn't great, though the CAT seems somewhat useful and UVA faculty/students ride for free. 

Just got accepted to Chico State! I'm ecstatic but confused. I got into UCF fully funded with a stipend and a fellowship. I know the funding opportunities aren't nearly as good at Chico. But it's Chico, my top choice. Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! 

After a long season of applications, I’m so grateful and happy to have two funded offers from LSU and Kent State! Anyone want to weigh in on the programs? I know LSU is fairly new! 

Has anyone got any of their travel reimbursements yet? My bank statement is scaring me and I'm an archaeologist AKA way too poor to pay all this out. 

Funding........I suspect I will hear back next week or miraculously today.

Yes, thanks... I have a really great offer from UC San Diego, and my prospective advisor there seems to be an amazing mentor! I was also interviewed by MIT and Virginia (results will be out soon I hope!), and I’m still waiting on NYU and Northwestern. I’m from the Philippines, but I have a Master’s from a US university in Hungary.  This process has been such a huge emotional roller coaster!

You don’t sound like you’re bragging! Now, if you were bio at UTK... just kidding! It’s competitive, but us anthro nerds have to stick together.

Also I keep rereading this and hoping that it doesn't sound like I'm bragging or making anyone feel bad! I just wanted to share the good news with everyone since you've all been really supportive through this whole process!!

Any one else hoping this will be the day (or at least week) for UT Knoxville to send out decisions for biological applicants? I've convinced myself that if I believe with all my heart it will happen today
