  1. I know it is not completely impossible for people to do a phd after SAIS, just uncommon for a phd in the U.S. Looking at employment stats for SAIS and other similar masters programs, it seems there's usually a few each year. One of the alums I spoke to is doing a phd at the graduate institute in Geneva. I would talk to admissions about it.
  2. I just got my notification for Pickering. I was unfortunately not selected. I wish everyone else well! I will still plan to go to school in the fall- right now it's between SAIS and AU SIS both for conflict management/ international peace and conflict. I *can* do it with loans though it makes me wince (probably one of the reasons I wasn't as good of a candidate for Pickering). But I'm glad to know since this will add some clarity to the decision. And I do hope to connect with some of you at grad school open houses next week.
  3. I just signed up for the virtual fair on April 5th. I just can't take three days off of work that week (au and SAIS) with multiple grants due Friday. So I'd love to hear about the Admitted Day as well!
  4. @coffeeandtravel A student from the accepted students page emailed me the power points for all but the Bologna one. They said they didn't record them though so its only the slides but still somewhat helpful.
  5. I checked the website and it now says we'll be notified by April 1 about selection. But @kbui you said possibly starting today?
  6. I just got an email with funding. 7k/ semester, which is less than AU, which I liked better. So I won't be accepting most likely.
  7. Yeah, they gave me a bit of a runaround during the application process too about whether a document was submitted/acceptable. Between that and this... I'm much less inclined to consider the school unless the funding is significantly better. I think the real insult to injury is all of the programmed emails about how great the school is in the meantime. For me it's having the opposite of the intended effect. I've received these emails from the other schools too of course (though less of them) but I'm much more receptive because I know what they're offering.
  8. Congrats on acceptance to Payne! I am now wondering if that means we'll hear from Pickering soon. I'm getting nervous (probably unnecessarily) about if interviews and decisions will be out before schools' funding decision deadlines on April 15. I'm not even sure I'm a very competitive applicant for Pickering but I feel like it would help my decision making/ stress to know if it's a possibility or not.
  9. Nope. Just another invite to come to the admitted day. So frustrating. All the other schools I've been admitted to have had this come out on the same day or at least been clear on the timeline. I sent them an email last week asking about timeline for knowing about funding and I haven't heard anything at all. (It's been more than 2 business days).
