    Hi everyone, This may be a silly question. I was accepted to present my undergraduate thesis at a symposium and I have to write a biography of 50 words. I'm an undergraduate student and I honestly have no idea what to include other than the fact that I am nearing the end of my BA... Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Hey guys, I'm in a little bit of a situation and thought I would ask my fellow Canadian applicants for advice. Essentially I applied to multiple schools, however, I really only had one school I wanted to attend. Consequently, I didn't put in as much effort into my other applications (i.e. contacting POIs) - I know, not smart . My undergraduate thesis is a substudy (one of 4) from a larger hospital study, and it turns out my POI from another school is an author on one of the other substudies! Turns out our interests are very much alike. We had a conference call with the other researchers, and she knows who I am but she most likely does not know I applied to work with her (yet). This is the first time I spoke to her and it was via webconference. Any advice on how I should approach this situation? I would like to contact her but it feels like I missed my chance/screwed up. Thanks in advance!

    It’s not accredited. Taken from the CPA website: ”Although graduation from an accredited doctoral programme is not a requirement for registration as a psychologist or always a requirement of employers, it can be an advantage. Applicants for registration or licensure who have graduated from accredited programmes often receive ‘fast-track’ credential reviews by regulatory bodies. Furthermore, accredited programmes are encouraged to hire faculty and staff who themselves have graduated from either a CPA- or APA-accredited programme.”

    I haven't heard anything. It seems they sent out a wave of rejections, but I haven't seen any interviews yet.

    It really depends on the POI since there is no formal interview process. It may be as late as March. It’s really difficult to say. I know last year was late due to the change in the online system and technical difficulties, so it could be earlier this year.

    I believe York hasn't been sent out yet... @Jay's Brain Wondering if you know anything about the open house?

    Not yet. They don’t have a formal interview process either. I hear they’re pretty late in the game.

    I wouldn't say she is totally screwed, however, I think she should have contacted her referee to ensure it was sent by the deadline.. That being said, what's done is done. Seeing as it is only the early acceptances going out, I wouldn't entirely lose hope! I think it's best to try not to stress too much and prepare for the waiting game. Like the poster above said, there isn't much else to say. Good luck to you both!!
