  1. Use it as an ice breaker . If anyone does ask that is.
  2. Prepare many many many questions for them. You’ve done your homework, but to truly show your interest they want you to ask about the program. Just don’t ask anything you can find on the website. You’ll do great!
  3. I only studied with Princeton Review and got over 80th percentile. Keep in mind I do have a double major in Psychology and Neuroscience. I found that the Princeton book did not cover enough biological psych and if I didn’t have my Neuro degree I wouldn’t have known quite a bit. I would take a practice test in one of the books you have, and determine which area you need to focus on the most! It’s great that you’re starting early in the year.
  4. It may even be in your advantage to stay sober. No disinhibition from the alcohol, always on your toes! Plus - while the others may be hungover, you will feel great the next day
  5. Nothing yet Did anyone else who applied to UTSC not realize the program isn’t CPA accredited? I feel played ?.
  6. Thanks so much! This definitely helped to calm my nerves a little bit. Why do you think it reflected poorly on you? I'm sure it didn't! It's always such a gray area for me. Thank you!
  7. I applied to four schools, one of which I have very little interest in attending, but applied to increase my chances of admission. With that, I decided not to contact any POIs for this school. I'm beginning to regret this decision and am wondering if contacting a POI this late in the application process is essentially too late? Thanks in advance!
  8. UTSC - Sorry, should have specified!
  9. Has anyone heard from Toronto? It's making me nervous considering interviews are soon.
  10. Didn't apply to McGill, but I haven't heard from Ottawa or Concordia yet.
  11. I didn’t even know the results page existed!! Thanks for this. It’s nice to have a timeline from previous years.
  12. I applied to Ottawa, York, U of T, Western and Concordia! Aiming for York Neuropsych. Fingers crossed and good luck everyone!
  13. Hi everyone, Does anyone have study guide/book recommendations for the GRE Psych subject test? I write on October 28 and am currently using Princeton Review prep book Thanks!
  14. Thank you everyone! I have decided to retake. I am confident my scores will increase as I only studied for 3 weeks. Since this is the rest of my life, there’s really no taking chances.
  15. Thanks for the reply! Do you mind if I ask how much you improved and what you used as a resource? I was basically utilizing Magoosh, however I heard the 5lb Manhattan book helped many improve by a few points. I’m just worried about time. I have to begin studying for the Psych GRE plus being in full times studies. I guess that’s grad school for ya - constantly busy. Sigh. McGill requires GRE if you’re not French. I will also be applying to Ottawa U as they don’t require it, however I’m really aiming for York.
  16. Hi everyone, I took the GRE yesterday and I have horrible test anxiety. Normally I use water to mitigate my symptoms, however as most of us know, this isn’t allowed in the testing centres.. long story short I did HORRIBLE on the GRE with 150V and 156Q (AWA TBA). Anyway, I am wondering what are my chances of admission to a Canadian Clinical Psychology program? I have a BSc in Neuroscience and Mental Health as well as Psychology and my GPA is 3.9, I have over two years experience in a clinical research position at a hospital, research experience with the government, executive position at a university society, volunteer experience at a mental health hospital, conference poster presentation, two TAships etc.. and according to my professors, I will have amazing letters of recommendations. Now I know the GRE is not everything to the application, but I would hate if it weakened it. I plan on applying to the following: York U (Neuropsych) McGill U of Toronto Western Thanks for the help!!
  17. I would suggest going to the main office and asking for information. You can also try calling ETS? McMaster is a large campus, definitely go early enough to find your way. Sorry I'm not much help.. Good luck!
  18. Does anyone recommend any study materials for the psychology GRE? There are so many options, I'd love some opinions!
