  1. Has anyone heard from Boston College? I saw someone post on the results page last week and am wondering if anyone else has heard. I remember them saying on interview day it's a rolling type process so curious if anyone knows the timeline or where they are in that process?
  2. I've had schools that do that though they also specific that they were doing it so that we could contact each other if we wanted (for lodging etc.).
  3. I've been taking like a leather tote type bag that one might take to work. It's definitely professional looking and something you would carry a laptop, notebook etc. in. I can't recall specifically, but I think other women had similar bags.
  4. It seems like TC is still reviewing apps, but would someone who already has an interview mind sharing the dates?
  5. School Name: Boston CollegeDate Interview Invite Received: 1/19/17Degree: PhDType: Counseling PsychologyTrack:Notified via: phoneFrom: POIInterview Date: 2/14Additional Info:
  6. Would whoever got the TC invite mind sharing who the email came from? Was it from your POI or a mass email and when is the interview date?
  7. Does anyone have any insight regarding appropriate interview hair styles for women? I typically wear my hair (of medium length/around my shoulder blades) straight, down, and out of my face for professional type events. However, someone told me it is best for women to wear their hair completely tied back in a bun for interviews. I think I'd actually feel quite uncomfortable with my hair in a bun since it's very unlike me. Any insights on if faculty would actually perceive a woman with her hair down more negatively than one with her hair back? I'd like to assume we're all past the point of assuming a woman can't be qualified and have decent hair but obviously don't want to risk it.
  8. I can certainly relate to this and feeling overwhelmed! Taking the time off from work repeatedly is stressful in itself but then having to do my job in less days a week adds to the feeling of being overwhelmed. At least it should all be over in 4-6 weeks?
  9. At what point is it appropriate for one to start turning down interviews? I'm getting more interview offers than I expected and so have been asking for skype interviews for a number of them considering a lot of the on campus interviews are on the same day. However, it seems like even with skype interviews everyone seems to want to schedule things on the same days. I don't want to turn down any interviews since I never know if/which program I might get accepted at but is turning down interviews something people do?
  10. I imagine they may initially be unaware of who is talking to what other faculty but they do eventually become aware. For example, I had two skype interviews with two different POIs at the same school and they seemed unaware of me interviewing with the other (and I didn't mention it). One of them offered me an on campus interview at the end of the call but the official email I got from the department mentioned both their names.
  11. Thanks for the help everyone! This is so helpful and I also was unsure what the difference was between a pantsuit and blazer/slacks. Guess I need to get to some shopping soon.
  12. I know it might be early for this as a lot of interview invites have yet to go out and I've looked at old threads but they aren't too helpful. What are people's thoughts on appropriate interview attire (particularly for women)? I know it's better to be overdressed than underdressed, but is a suit for women necessary?
  13. Has anyone got details on the UCSB interview weekend yet? I was told an email would go out by today with more info but haven't received anything and would like to get plans together sooner rather than later
