I would really like to hear any thoughts you feel like sharing on the open house. Was it an interesting cohort? What did you learn about the program? About the support? What was your overall impression about the personal elements/interactions of the staff academic and otherwise (this is so hard to gauge online, but has such an impact on the experience). Thanks in advance!

Full funding would certainly trump $10k! Congratulations! I got into the MIPP, also with $10k. Hoping for more $$, not sure of my next steps yet.

For anyone still reading this, thanks for the run in the last week! It was fun to share the horrible/crazy anticipation with you all, and it certainly made it easier knowing I wasn't the only one going crazy waiting... Sarah

Anyone get a notice today? I'm waiting sooooo patiently. Well, at least I'm making dinner REALLY CLOSE to my phone...

No response thus far. Good luck everyone.

Congratulations! And great question. Did you get any $$ support? I'm a mid-career applicant, and can't imagine taking on that kind of debt at any point- other than to get a mortgage, but perhaps you're in a different situation? $100k + would completely change the way I live for a very long time. What kind of $$ can you pull in with an advanced degree in China Studies? Do you have a mentor or prof you can talk to? Good luck, that is hard.

I'm five hours ahead, so nothing yet. I promise to share

I also applied for the MIPP, though in Bologna, and I've heard that was an unusual choice- to say the least! I'm hoping they really do release decisions tomorrow. I have to say, the MIPP program does not seem to be as supported by the admissions staff as the MA. Twice- or has it been three times now?- I've had to ask questions about dates that were posted incorrectly...I hope that is not an indication of how they treat the program once it is rolling... I wrote to admissions and they did confirm that decisions for MIPP are coming out tomorrow! Let's hope it is nice and early in the day good luck to you!

Anyone have a date of expected notification from UBC MPP? Spring is what I remember the website said, that is interminably unclear... -
Just got my rejection letter, good luck everyone else!

Okay, I gave in. I emailed today, I'll share any news I get back (IF I hear back...)

I'm five hours ahead. And it is a national holiday (read: my kids are home from school). I've done a workout, showered, eaten breakfast and lunch (and coffee!), rewritten my outline for my latest paper, and um refreshed this page and others while waiting, waiting, waiting. What are you doing to distract yourself? I need more ideas! I am planning to go to a ceremony commemorating the 1848 Hungarian Revolution in a few minutes, but it is pouring and the event is outside...

Yes, excuse me, MPA. I don't know either, just trying to get myself settled so I can hopefully get some sleep tonight! ACK!

But did everyone accepted in the past get their email the day before? There are a lot of students and it seems like they spread it out. I realize I'm waiting for the MPP and most (all?) of you are awaiting the MA, but still. I am optimistic that more people on this forum will hear something positive- maybe as late as tomorrow.

Yes, but what color socks did you wear when you hit submit on your application? Your answer could change the outcome for many of us... I'll stick with gratulálunk (Hungarian, but you can guess the meaning!)

Another congratulations! Wow! All that hard work paid off!

Yes, I agree with you. Considering the amount of money I'd be spending an email with a "we're running behind" message would be well-suited to this situation.

seriously if it is snail mail I'm done for! I'm living in HUNGARY this year
