  1. Thank you so much for the detailed response! I will hopefully be in town April or May to take a look at apartments and get a feel for the hoods. It's always great to receive tips beforehand! I have been checking out Craigslist and there are great deals indeed!
  2. Just got accepted into my number one choice with a 45% tuition scholarship! Could not be happier. Seems like I'll be moving to Boston late July! Anyone else? Good luck everyone and keep positive: good news is on its way for all of us!
  3. Thank you @bluebird8 and @00ber! My troubles are over! Received an e-mail this morning confirming that I have been accepted with a 45% tuition scholarship!!! Since it's my first choice I won't be applying to the other two programs. Good luck everyone & keep positive. Good news is on its way for all of us.
  4. Hello everyone! Here I am seeking "words of wisdom." I applied to ONE school only, which happens to be my number one choice. Here's a brief timeline: I submitted my application first week of January. Third week of January I had an interview with the Director of the program, which went extremely well! Fourth week of January I was told that I was "recommended" (for admission) and that I would also be recommended for a scholarship in an informal e-mail exchange. Two weeks have gone by and I still haven't received anything official yet. Which I'm sure is standard. However, since I am living in another country and currently own a business I need at least 3 months to organize my move (which involves two family members as well). Would it be terrible for me to check in with them? Historically, they usually send out notifications late February - early March, which leads me to my second big dilema: There are two other programs that I was interested in applying to but held back since I my interview and e-mail exchanges were so positive from my number 1 program. I can still apply to these other two programs... should I? I have the impression that I was unofficially accepted into my number one choice. I feel like I would be putting my "recommenders" to work again without need. Thoughts?
  5. @Escussel Thank you! You are absolutely right, most responses seem to float around mid-late February. Good luck to you as well! Hopefully we will have lots of good news to share in the very near future.
  6. Thank you @maengret! I'm trying my very best to NOT check the portal or e-mail every five minutes. I miss the days when notifications were sent via mail - postal service! I think we were all probably a lot let anxious. Who agrees? Since I live abroad every week that goes by places me on a tighter deadline with my move, which I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat!
  7. Hello everyone! I will most likely be moving to Boston in June. Need to find a pet-friendly apt. under the $2,000 range (1 bedroom) and close to Tufts. It can be outside Boston as long as it's any easy metro ride. Any recommendations?
  8. Thank you @whitmanifesto! It was a very informal e-mail exchange, however it seems like a very positive response. Since I am an international student I was unaware of what the term "recommend you" meant with in this context. My interview went extremely well the week before we exchanged this e-mail. Now, I just have to wait and see. As we all do. Hope everyone is hanging in there.
  9. Hello everone! I have a quick question. I recently exchanged e-mails with the director of the graduate program I am the most interested in. In the closing paragraph of the e-mail the director said : "All of your materials have been submitted and reviewed. I can go ahead and recommend you." Does this mean that I have been accepted into the program? What exactly does "recommend you" mean? Anyone? I'm anxious and I'm sure most of you are as well. Good luck to us all as we begin to receive responses!

  12. Thank you tianqian34532 for your response. I wasn't aware that the first round was complete. According to the admissions officer I spoke to the first round begins in january and can extend into anytime/any day in February. I'm glad you have insider info.! If first round is out, it's out. Thanks for clarifying that. I thought people were still being reviewed. (Btw, I am referring to masters programs not PHD.) Round 2: fingers crossed!
  13. I couldn't agree more Phdplzz! Although I truly understand that the admissions office must be extremely busy, the level of ambiguity generates a lot of unnecessary stress, aside from ongoing interpretation of what's going on, on our end. Why can't we receive a one little liner update regarding out application: "application being reviewed", "stlll making decisions", or "another round of applicants will be reviewed within the next two weeks," "stay cool". Wishful thinking I guess, but it would be a far more transparent process... on both ends.
  14. Congrats Yehao!!! I also applied to the Learning and Design program! No news yet. Would you mind sharing a bit about your background? Did you apply elsewhere as well? Random question to everyone else in the group: Do you think they send out a first round of acceptances all at the same time? Like an automatic e-mail. Or will the slowly notify applicants one by one? I'm curious if people in the same program have chances of being notified (aside from waitlist) on different days. Now that there are finally acceptances out there... the anxiousness has increased by 1000%. Good luck everyone!!!
  15. Hello there! Wondering if there are Peabody applicants out there who have already received a response for any of the master's programs, are there? Last year responses started floating around 3rd week of january! it's that time of the year.
