  1. Thanks! How did you find out where the graduates ended up working? Have you decided what MPH program you're going to? Thanks again!
  2. Thanks! 1.) I'm in the Northeast region. 2.) So far, I'm interested in clinical psychology, cognitive psychology, and biopsychology. I wouldn't really know because I haven't had research experience. 3.) Do you know where I can go looking for those? 4.) Yes, that's an option to me. I'm open to anything really. Just want to get experience.
  3. Hi! I am in serious need of help! I am currently a senior Psychology and Sociology major with no research experience other than the courses that I have taken in school. I switched my major to Psychology during the second half of my junior year. I wasn't able to acquire a seat in my school's psychology labs. I tried applying to summer undergraduate research programs, but I was either not eligible for the programs, or I was rejected. It may be too late, but does anyone know of psychology summer research programs that take graduating seniors? Any help will be much appreciated!
  4. How is the MPH program at the CUNY School of Public Health?
  5. Thanks! By the way, do you know anything about CUNY's MPH program? If so, how is it? Also, I'm still waiting on NYU. Do you know anything about commitment deposits and whether or not it would be okay to pay it for one school in the meantime while waiting for decisions from other schools?
  6. How is CUNY's Master of Public Health program? Also, if I submit my commitment deposit, is it okay to submit a deposit to another school as well if I get accepted?
  7. How is CUNY's MPH program?
  8. Hi Jane Reacher! Congrats on your acceptances! How is CUNY's MPH program by the way?
  9. I got accepted into a MPH program. However, I'm waiting for other schools to get back to me. The issue is that the MPH program that I was accepted to expects me to turn in a commitment deposit 3 weeks after I have received the acceptance notice. Just out of curiosity, would it be an issue if I paid the deposit to secure my seat, and then decide to pay the deposit for another school if I get accepted there?
  10. For this question, would graduate school count as college, or is that separate? If it's separate, would I just fill out "0" if nobody else in my household is pursuing a college degree? The question is: How many people in your household will be in college in 2017-2018?
  11. Thanks! I'm currently interested in the Community and International Health concentration, though I may want to switch over to the Global Health concentration. Why isn't NYU's MPH program ranked, and is it going to be ranked soon?
  12. Is it a bad idea to pursue a graduate degree, such as a Master's degree, if you are unsure as to what subject you truly want to puruse and if you are unsure of your career path?
  13. Should I use the professional transcript entry option if I have one undergraduate transcript, or should I just manually enter in my grades? The professional transcript entry option is $65 for three transcripts, and I only have one to enter.
  14. For people with low GPAs, I'm one of them too (2.82 GPA, senior in college), would you recommend staying in college for another year to improve one's GPA? What should be the deciding factor between graduating and trying out for a Master's program versus staying in college to try to improve one's GPA?
  15. Thanks for helping out. I am kind of just considering US institutions because if I apply elsewhere, I may have to also consider the cost of housing, and I'm not really a person of means. Do you have any other tips or advice? Thanks again for helping out!
  16. I've been feeling overwhelmed lately, especially with college, figuring out what to do after I graduate from college, applying to graduate school, and what to do with a sub 3.0 GPA. I entered college thinking I was going to enter medicine, but maybe that wasn't the right path for me. Maybe it was, and my interests diverged too much. Maybe I wasn't focused enough. Either way, my grades for the first two and a half years (or maybe even 3) of college weren't stellar. I switched majors (Psychology) and started doing well in classes. I had a 3.61 semester GPA last semester. However, I'm currently a senior and am looking into graduate programs. I was thinking of entering public health and am currently applying to schools. I've been overwhelmed with finding a post-graduation plan because it seems that people who don't have post-graduate plans are stigmatized in society, either by family members, friends, or the stigma may even be internal. I know that I could have definitely done things differently in college, but here I am-senior year. I'm trying to pick up the pieces as best as I can with the time I have left. I worried that if I enter the workforce now, I won't really have many prospective employers, as I have a sub 3.0 GPA, and I've always wanted to continue my education so I can move up the societal ladder so to speak. I just need some guidance as to what I can do. I really feel as though I dug my own grave, and there's no climbing out of it. Can anyone help me?
