    I have an inside source saying that the admission committee met last week so probably it is likely that the decisions will be out this week.

    Not really related to the thread. But how do you guys know which schools are in the top10 ? Do you use the US News Ranking?

    How likely is it to get admitted to a program if one of the professors in the program write me a very strong recommendation letter and I don't have any red flag except that my verbal score is 152 (I am an international student)?

    Did your POI tell you that you got accepted? Is is a tradition at Cornell for POI to contact prospective students before sending out formal letters? I am quite scared now because I have not heard any thing from my POI.

    Sorry man. I don't use the mobile app so I didn't see your signature. I just saw someone got admitted to Cornell CS PhD. But I am not sure whether the result is official or unofficial. So I am quite curious whether someone here already got admitted as well.

    based on last few years' results, if you are admitted, you will receive the acceptance letter around the first week of Feb. Otherwise, it is likely to be a rejection.

    I sent some emails back and forth with a professor at Waterloo. At his last email, he said that "If you end up coming to Waterloo, I am sure that we will be able to find an area of mutual interest." Is this a good or neutral sign ?
