I don't know what others are coming with, I can only speak for myself. My choice to apply to U of T was one that was not really a choice for me. You see, I looked at all of the schools offering an MSW in the region and looked at their theoretical perspectives and areas of research. U of T was the only school doing research in my area of interest. The choice was clear. Another thing that I think made a difference, was that all of my courses (electives), work experience, research experience all connected with my area of interest and I was able to connect the dots that pointed to U of T. I highlighted this in my statement. I am not a person who is dazzled by bright lights and rubbing shoulders with the "elite"; it quite literally could have been any school. I would have made the choice with with my goal in mind. I think that is where reflection is needed...does it have to be U of T? and if so, be honest with your reasons why. Im grateful that I have been accepted and I get to continue on my path of learning. I hope you all continue on yours as well. PS - I have an SSW - 4.0 GPA, BSW 4.0 GPA (last year), A and A- in research qualitative and stats, 7 years of paid employment in the field of mental health and addictions and very little research experience, mature student with lived experience. I hope his helps.

Has anyone tried using their U of T Join ID to log into ACORN? If you recall, all applicants were sent an email in early December with your JOIN ID. ACORN is up and running and perhaps can provide some info if you are able to log in.

Hi KarebearSW, thanks for your reply. I thought I heard that to, but I was thinking that maybe I was mistaken. I wonder how the program is set up for part timers...and in terms of the enrollment for this year, they said lower than 9?? I wonder why that is... interesting.

Does anyone know the amount of students U of T accepts for their advanced standing MSW program for both the full-time and part-time stream. I can recall hearing that they accepted 9 people for their part-time advanced standing program last year. Thanks

Hi, I am... I haven't found any Facebook pages specifically for advanced standing students. I did however find a page named U of T FIFSW MSW Class of 2018. Anyone attending the advanced standing program part time? I'm curious to know what the tuition fees will look like.

That's great, I live 30 minutes from the school and received my letter in the mail last Friday. I am also in the Health and Mental Health stream advanced standing part time.

Lol, I hear you! I was very guarded until I got the official offer in the mail. Stranger things have happened and computers do have glitches! Im sure you will get it early this week. I was accepted into the Health and Mental Health stream - part time. Congratulations to you as well! What stream did you choose?

Hi Jaylynn, I received mine in the mail on Friday. The deadline for acceptance is 4 weeks from the date of offer. There is also a $500 deposit that is required by June 1, 2017. Hope this helps

Hi Dry_Guy, SGS still says 'UNDER REVIEW' My last name starts with 'L' Second round admissions i believe are supposed to be the 2nd group of admission offers. I'm not too sure how that works or when it's supposed to happen. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that it does....it has the year and program and stream - pt or ft. It is also asking to activate e-mail.

Hi KarebearSW I'm in the same boat! I only applied to U of T advanced standing. The waiting is torture...to say the least. I've been trying to distract myself with work, but that doesn't seem to be working to well. One thing that I have come to terms with is that worrying will not change the results - I will carry on either way. PS - I haven't seen or heard a peep!

Ok, I grew some and called....sorry, my friend called. My friend told me that they said the earliest advanced standing would hear anything would be the end of February.
