    Yeah, I didnt go down that road. I found some off campus housing, but it is more than I am used to paying for rent.

    I like the research centers and professors research interests at SUNY-Albany and their close relationship with the School of Criminal Justice. I also have been able to visit campus and liked it as well. I think reaching out to ask for more funding is a good idea though.

    Hey! Is anyone an incoming graduate student for University at Albany, SUNY?? I just accepted their offer to attend for Sociology in Fall 2018.

    Hello all, I am in need of some advice. I was accepted into my top choice (Sociology), University at Albany, SUNY, which I was so happy about, but they offered me very little funding. Then I was accepted off the waitlist for Washington State University, with FULL FUNDING. But also only my third choice....very hard decision because I would feel very guilty turning down a free ride. But I also want to go to a institution that will open up more doors for me in the long run. I was hoping to gain some advice from you all. Which do you think matters more in the long run, a degree from a better ranking institution or a debt free degree???? I also want to mention that I have established a relationship with a potential adviser at SUNY, which could also benefit me as well.

    Thanks! Yeah understandable, I’m having to move from a different state, very stressful. I’m hoping I can make it to visit day, and also squeeze in time to apartment hunt.

    Just heard back from my top choice, acceptance at University of Albany, SUNY for Sociology and I even got a little baby scholarship. Have not heard from any other universities yet, but this is pretty much it for me. Anyone else in this thread attending??     Yeah it depends, I have heard nothing from all of programs I applied, so I was getting worried. I reached out to them and they gave me a timeframe of last week in February and early March. It can be nerve racking checking the results page everyday and seeing them come in, but each school is different.

    That happened to me last cycle. I got a generic email, then one from the graduate program director THEN a letter in the mail. Like way to rub salt in a wound guys.

    This happened to me last cycle, at WSU, which I was waitlisted at. They informed me it was an automatic thing from their financial department. But I’m not sure with UC Irvine.

    I needed to read this today! Thanks, I have been trying so hard to just focus on what needs to be done in the current moment and not constantly be refreshing my email or my application status page. It can be very hard though as these rejections and acceptances are made to feel like they determine our worth or ability. I just try to take deep breaths and not let my mind spiral. Good luck.

    Has anyone heard anything from the University of Delaware?? I have submitted my application almost 2 months ago and the deadline was a little over a month ago, so I am getting worried. I haven't heard anything from any other schools yet either, I cant tell if it is a good thing or a bad thing.... I want to reach out to the program, but I also don't want to come off as annoying... My anxiety though! This is my second cycle of applying, I was rejected from 5 Ph.D. track programs last year and waitlisted at Washington State University. I am really hoping for at least one acceptance this year!!
