  1. I can start one if you friend me on fb. Need at least one person to start a new group. I'm listed under Kelsey Erin.
  2. We should make a Facebook page! Congrats on the decision!
  3. Oh man my apologies! I thought the program began in 2015!! Thanks so much for all your help! I think I'm going to accept the offer, the program is new but it has so much potential!
  4. I actually saw her at ASHA! (I was there presenting with some coworkers myself) I know her from her extensive work in the fields of multiple disabilities and AAC, big fan! Ok last question I promice, where can you do your externships for delawares program? And do they let you have any say/help choose? Is one adult and one child or one nursing/hospital and the other school-based? How did the first year of students (if you speak with any!) feel about their preparedness entering the externships in fall and spring and where were they placed? I'm over the bridge in south jersey and I want to get an idea of externships commuting and just a general feel of what options are out there!
  5. I really, really appreciate your response Auuudriana! Right now University of Delaware is looking like one of my top choices. I think I've narrowed it down to Udel and Temple. With the amount of funding University of Delaware offered me for my first year, the pricing is pretty equal to temple but still very steep. I'm really quite worried I will not receive any funding the second year and will have a lot of trouble paying it off ... Are you or your classmates able to work while competing this degree?? I'm glad you included the link about accreditation because I was worried to "roll the dice" so to speak on a new program that is not yet accredited compared with Temple which is accredited and highly ranked. To be honest, University of Delaware's program, although new, is a better fit for me and my goals than Temple due to the many faculty with specific specializations (Like in AAC)! It also helps that the campus is gorgeous!
  6. I just got accepted last week and visited the clinic yesterday. I'm personally having a tough time deciding between all the Philly area schools (Temple, West Chester, U del). Could you weigh in on your experience at U del? I love the level of the support in the program with the CCC in the room (especially as an out-of-major applicant), but I am worried about the accreditation process. Does it really matter that it is not yet accredited by the CAA and what would that mean for me upon graduation? Also, If you don't mind me asking, were you able to receive aid your second year? They offered me a sizable grant for the first year but it is still most expensive school I am considering and I'm nervous to sign on and not receive any more money!
  7. Anyone have any input on speech language pathology programs at the following schools. I'm looking for the most ideal location to commute to, best pricing, availability of AAC courses, and obviously a quality program. Thanks for weighing in!! It's freak-out week!!! University of West Chester University of Delaware Temple university Bonus points if you have any info on Old Dominion University!!
  8. I am really struggling to decide on a school and the deadline is approaching fast! Could anyone weigh in on any of my top three schools? My biggest concerns are price, location, nontraditional student support (I'm currently a special education teacher), and availability of AAC courses. Could anyone add any input to my pro/con list on these concerns and other other pros or cons that may have made you choose that school. Thank you so so much! Temple pros: wouldn't have to move (save $$ and stay near bf/family), quality program Temple cons: 6 semester program, most expensive, known to be pretty difficult (which scares me a bit as a nontraditional student) WVU pros: cheapest (plus they gave me a sizable scholarship), 5 semester program, quality program WVU cons: move 5 hours away, campus size is a bit daunting, pay for living Old Dominion pros: favorite SLH clinic facility (attached preschools), more nontradiaional students there, quality program Old Dominion cons: 6 semester program, move 5 hours away, pay for living
  9. Finally beginning to (try) and make a decision on which school I will be attending in the fall. If anyone has any strong opinions on Temple, Old Dominion, West Virginia, or West Chester please let me know! It is tough to decide whether to stay closer to family and boyfriend or choose a much cheaper school further away! I will be declining Adelphi, University of Vermont, and Duquesne today--hope that helps someone on here!
  10. Best of luck to you too! I did not apply to any of those schools so I can't tell you anything about them but if you decide not to go to LaSalle, let them know! I got waitlisted there (and really everyone else within 3 hours of where I currently live, go figure lol).
  11. Old Dominion just accepted me today! The email says to keep on the lookout for additional emails about scholarships, so if you were waiting on them, check your emails everyone! Best of Luck!
  12. Accepted to University of Vermont, Adelphi, and West Virginia. Just interviewed with Old Dominion last weekend. Wait listed by LaSalle and Pittsburgh. Waiting on all of the schools in my area before making a final decision! Waiting on Temple, West Chester, Miseracordia, and University of Delaware! Anyone else heard from either of those three? I'm starting to get nervous because I have to decide in less than a month!
