Hey everyone, I was accepted to a grad program this fall and am just finishing up my last ASHA prerequisite in physics (my school requires we finish those before starting the program). I take my final this week, and since physics is NOT my strong suit, I am concerned about getting a C minus. Does anyone know if we are allowed to have a C minus as the grade? Since it's an ASHA requirement, and not one of the CSD courses, I know we are allowed to have a C but didn't know if a C minus counted. Anyone who knows anything is helpful!

For those of you accepted to ASU, what was the deadline they gave you for accepting or denying? I just got put on the waitlist today, and wanted to know when I would likely hear more. Also, for past year applicants, does anyone know what the chances are of getting in off the waitlist? Thanks in advance!

We should be hearing from ENMU soon! I saw their facebook page said they are sending out acceptance letter by the end of today, and waitlists by Monday. Good luck, everyone waiting on this school!

****UPDATE***** I broke down and called them. They said that acceptances and rejections for the distance program will be going out NEXT week, not this week. So another week of holding our breath! -

Yes, I'm pretty sure it does. They said if you haven't gotten a rejection or admission yet that it means you are waitlisted. -

Thanks! I'm so antsy... I applied to the part-time distance program and I really wish they would let me know my ranking! The waiting is killing me! -

@mel627Do you happen to know if they contacted your references also? I know they haven't contacted mine, but I'm still waitlisted... I'm wondering what that means. -

I know they returned from spring break yesterday... so hopefully this week? I looked at when they sent things out in previous years, and it's never been this late, so I am wondering if they got a ton of applicants this year. I wish someone had some info on them though- the waiting is killing me!! -

@mel627 Were you admitted to the full time distance, or the part time? -
For those of you who applied and have not received anything back from WKU yet (acceptance or rejection), here is an email I just got back from the school: "If you haven’t heard anything yet, it does mean that you are on a waitlist. We will send everyone an email at the end once the cohorts are full. No, unfortunately I’m not allowed to tell anyone where they are on the ranked waiting list, per the faculty’s request. We are sending out another acceptance for each decline we get, so I don’t have any specific dates to give anyone yet at this point." If you got accepted here and don't plan to attend, please let them know when you can! This is one of my top choice schools, and I'm pretty sure it is for others as well!

I THINK we might hear something today. I'm trying to hold back from calling graduate admissions to ask, but I've looked over the past few years, and it looks like they usually start sending out the emails the Friday before their spring break (which is today!) Good luck! Hopefully we hear something! At this point it's more of a planning thing for me and wanting to know what I'll be doing with my life soon (I'm a planner... lol)

Yes, I applied to 4 schools in this area, and was rejected from all of them (all in one week too!) I'm not terribly heartbroken because my husband and I were hoping to move this summer, and I knew going into it that all the schools up here are competitive. But it would be nice to have some acceptances now!

Has anyone heard back yet from WKU, ENMU, or UNCO? Specifically their online distance programs? I saw a couple people had heard from WKU this past weekend, but I haven't heard anything yet- so I'm nervous! I know my recommenders also haven't been contacted from WKU yet, and it looks like last year the recommenders generally were contacted about a week before being accepted or rejected. If anyone else is waiting for these schools- good luck! I haven't seen many people applying to these schools on the forum for this year.

2018 Speech Pathology Graduate Applicants

@aelwood14 I have similar concerns! I started off my undergrad as a music major 10 years ago, and I was miserable; always getting sick all the time, I was in an abusive relationship, and I suffered with a mental health disorder- so all that ended with me in the hospital and my GPA went wayyyy down during that time. Now I have maintained a solid GPA in both my Associate's degree and my bachelor's that I'm completing now and I am currently in an SLPA internship. But the CSDCAS website requires all prior transcripts and they cumulate your GPA from ALL schools attended which I fear looks really bad! So I'm hoping that schools see how hard I've worked in the last 5 years, and don't judge me based on my transcripts from 10 years ago. Best of luck to you- I hope it works out for both of us! You have wonderful experience, and I'm sure the grad programs will really value that- 439 replies

@chipsahoy2018 I had the same issue- I think ASU is still waiting on my fall transcript so they haven't made a decision about mine yet!

Does anyone know where to find a comprehensive list of schools that offer spring admission and not just fall? Preferably online schools. I checked ASHA, and they have a list of online programs, but not ones for spring admission. I'm preparing myself in case my applications for this fall don't work out, also I figured others could benefit from a list like this

So I ended up taking my GRE a little later, because I got married this past fall. I just got my official scores back today and am trying to decide whether or not to take it again before the applications are due January 1st. Here are my stats: GPA currently in Bachelor's completion program for SLPA: 3.63 GPA for Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development: 3.32 GRE scores: V: 148 Q: 149 W: 4.0 I have a strong "experiences" background; I'm currently in a year long SLPA internship, I have over 50 observation/shadowing hours with SLPs, I currently volunteer at both an Autism Center and with an Aphasia Support Group, I've directed children's choirs, I started off college as a voice performance major, and I've nannied for 9 years. I have seen a lot of posts on here for people trying for years to get into a program, and I've tried to stack my stats against everyone else but I seem to be in the very "average" range. I know my GRE scores aren't terrific (I am not a great test taker), but I know they aren't terrible either, and I know it's kind of the same with my GPA. It seems that most of the schools look at "the whole picture", so I'm hoping I have that on my side? I guess I'm just looking for any advice on how to approach this because I haven't seemed to find anyone on this site yet whose stats line up with mine so I can refer to that. I'm honestly torn as to whether or not to bother taking the GRE again. Any advice welcome!
