  1. I’m super excited! I’ve been wanting to go to Smith for a few years now, so the fact that it’s now in the near future is pretty unbelievable. Hope your interview went well! Let us know what you find out.
  2. I was offered $4000k per semester, but I’m not planning on attending. Do y’all know if sending back the reply form declining the scholarship offer will reject my offer of admission, too? I’ve been trying to figure out how to do that for the past month with no luck.
  3. I did, and I was accepted! I will be attending. I applied Early Decision, though, so I heard back in early February.
  4. Hi everyone! I was accepted into Pitt’s program, but I’ve decided to attend Smith’s instead. Does anyone have any idea how to decline the offer of admission? I did a lot of clicking on the online portal today and couldn’t figure it out, but I’d like to help get someone off the waitlist.
  5. Ok, so I haven’t received anything via postal mail yet, but I got an email from Smith’s financial aid office this afternoon that said: ”Smith College School for Social Work is pleased to assist in financing your education.Your official financial aid award is now available to view online through BannerWeb.To review your award, follow the BannerWeb menu to: * Student and Financial Aid Information * Student Financial Services Menu * Student Award InformationA form to accept/decline an offered Federal Unsubsidized Loan will beavailable to complete as of March 20th.” I logged on and it said I’m eligible for a $10,250 loan per year. Does this mean I’ve been accepted, or am I celebrating too early?
  6. Notification letters should be mailed out this week! Post here if you hear anything!
  7. My acceptance was on the portal a week ago, and the letter attached there said I should expect a letter via snail mail within the next few days. Still have yet to receive anything.
  8. I did, and I found it strange, too. This was in the very beginning stages of the application— I believe I’d only filled out the personal information section at this point, and I ultimately ended up deciding not to apply there (for other reasons).
  9. Yep, after logging in, at the bottom of the "My Applications" page, there is a link that says "Your application is now available online."
  10. Oh, the decision on the website did not mention anything about funding.
  11. I was accepted and will likely attend if not accepted to my first choice, Smith. I haven’t actually received a physical letter, though— was alerted on the website on 1/18, where it said letters would be mailed out within the next few days. Applied 12/31.
  12. Yes, Samag, I’m in the same boat. I’ll be coming straight from undergrad with a high GPA and extensive social work-related volunteer experience, but I know they give preference to candidates with at least a year of “general work experience,” according to their website. Those who have been accepted in previous years: what was your academic/employment situation? If you ended up attending, how common was it to encounter students straight out of undergrad?
  13. Question: Let's say I apply to school A, B, C, and D. A is my top choice; B, C, and D are my safety schools. If I'm rejected from A but accepted to B, C, and D, but I choose to take a year off in order to gain more experience and then reapply to all 4 schools, will my previous acceptance but non-attendance to B, C, and D hurt my chances of being accepted in the future? Basically, should I go ahead and submit applications to my safety schools even though I'm strongly considering taking a gap year if rejected from my top choice? Or would it be best to only submit applications to my top choice and one safety school this time around? I think I have a decent chance of being accepted to my top choice school, but it's definitely not guaranteed. Please let me know your thoughts!
  14. Hi everyone! Anyone else apply to Smith's MSW program? Apparently those of us who applied Early Decision will hear back sometime in early to mid- February, but the wait so far has been nearly unbearable for me. I'm coming here because I think my friends and family are sick of hearing me talk about it. I don't really have a specific question, but I'd love to talk with other people who have applied or have thought about applying to Smith! What drew you to the program? If you considered Smith but ultimately decided not to apply, what kept you from doing so? Where else are you applying? Is there anyone out there who attends Smith or applied in previous years? Please share your stats!
