  1. I applied for Fall, Spring, and Summer admittance to no avail, I was going to allow myself one more chance as well as applying for my plan B (MS in ABA). Found out I was accepted for my plan B and then finally got in grad school for SLP 2 minutes later! Never give up on your goals, if you work hard and persevere, you will get there!
  2. So if this helps, I am a part of the University of Cincinnati that does the program with the University of Akron and my typical semester cost is around $3-4k, I don't pay the full out-of-state tuition since I live in the Indy metro for the UC classes but do for UA. Currently (without the fees that UC charges), UC charges around $2200 per 3 credit hour class, whereas UA charges around $1400. The program only requires 3 classes for the first 2 semesters, and then 2 and gradual internships from the third semester until the end of the program.
  3. The first thing I do each semester is to look online to see if I can find a pdf copy of the book! I would also check with different facebook groups as some people have pdf copies that they are willing to email to you for free, or have physical copies of books that they are wiling to see you for less. Make sure you know the return date to get all of your money back if you return a book. If push comes to shove, buy all of your books, and then look at you syllabi as soon as it is available to see if the book will actually be used, if not, return the book and get your money back.
  4. Don't give up! It took me a little over a year(4 cycles) before I was excepted to my dream school! I was in the same boat, and if I can do it, you can too!
  5. University or Cincinnati and University of Akron
  6. It's a collaborative program with UC, which I am completing the same program through! We take almost all of the same classes, UC take a couple more than UA. What do you want to know?
  7. I was recently accepted to the University of Cincinnati's ACinD program and would love to hear from those who are currently in the program about how the classes are set up/course load/support from other students/etc. Feel free to comment if you're starting in January too!
  8. Does anyone have any general insight into the online programs through the University of Cincinnati, University of Akron, or California State University Northridge? How clinical hours are completed from a distance, course load, acceptance rates, or generally how you like the program?
  9. They have a great program at a pretty reasonable price. I currently work at an ABA clinic about an hour from Ball State and a large portion of our Program Managers and Apprentices got their degree from Ball State. From what I have heard, the faculty is great, the course load is part time but gets to be more challenging towards the latter half, but many feel very prepared for the BCBA exam upon completion of their degree.
  10. The alternate list is the waitlist for the actual waitlist. They only have so many original spots on the waitlist and then everyone else that didn't make the waitlist but they didn't want to completely deny are added to the alternate list.
  11. Ball state used to have an automatic admittance program for the students that went their for undergrad, but that program ended last year
  12. Ball State just ended their automatic admittance program for their own undergraduate students, so your chances might be better this year, but they usually only accept people who went their for undergrad.
