CFGauß got a reaction from bepavera in Sciences Po Opinions?
Depends on what the other universities are and what career you are looking for. If you want a job and perspective in an international institution in a French-speaking country or which likes to hire from France (European Union), it is a safe bet to study there. It is by all means an excellent education and institution but networks do matter and if you are looking to get into an British or American dominated organization you should try to get into an American or British program that has many alumni within your dream organization. You are not trying to become an academic but are looking for a job. So, my advice (for any professional program as opposed to PhD programs) is to not only look for academic excellence but especially for a program's job placement history and alumni.

CFGauß got a reaction from abeabe in HKS vs. WWS
The downside of HKS that everyone will tell you about is that they are very selective when it comes to funding. Since you have been chosen for a full ride, I don‘t see why you would choose WWS. Networks and job market look similarly good but name recognition swings significantly in Harvard‘s favor. Is there maybe someone among the faculty at either school you care about? That could make the decision easier perhaps.
by the way: Congratulations! Winning CPL is huge!

i wish you all a happy, healthy and successful life, no matter what your CV says in the end, Harvard or not, it doesn’t really matter for a good life. So, chins up, tomorrow will be a new day. Peace!

CFGauß got a reaction from MindOverMatter in "Accepting" Total Rejection (A Good Day)
Thank you for a place to vent! I am currently extremely swinging between moods. Last night, as I lay in my bed, I was convinced, absolutely convinced, I literally knew, that I was going to be rejected. Today, I am browsing housing options again, making my way from my amazing academic slash party loft to class, grabbing coffee at my go-to spot on the way and already tasting the morning bagel in my mouth. I need a xanax.

Results on Wednesday. I hope I am getting extrapoints from Matt for being the first to guess the release date right
By the way, am I the only one to have nightmares about being rejected by accident? I mean, they are reading names and someone clicks on admitted, waitlisted or rejected. Imagine your name being read as #536 at 11 p.m. on a Friday. All it takes is someone to jump a line in the spreadsheet and someone else to be too tired to notice. How is that not a prototype for how to ruin someone's admission? Argh!!

Some chap on the gradcafe results forum says accepted to HKS with 10k annual funding on 7th March. Reported it spam. Last blog on entry on HKS says all results will be released at the same time. Good luck all and stay protected from spammers on the forum! xx

Indeed, he just reposted his blog entry from March 7, 2014 and used the wrong year in the title (again). This means a) we are still over a week from results away and b) Matt is either extremely stressed right now (it was either a planned posting or he stayed up very late) and/or is less motivated to post than he was in previous years. In any case: I feel your pain Matt! You are doing great work and all of us are really thankful for it. I propose sending him a card or flowers, anyone else up for it?

My anxiety levels are skyrocketing. I caught myself browsing through Harvard housing pages and daydreaming about student life. Damn you, work me, we had an agreement!

Any updates anyone? Both Matt and this forum had been unusually silent over the last few days!

I seriously considered sending him an anonymous bouquet from all of us at Gradcafe but I fear that they might see that as an attempt to unduly influence our #1 Director of Admissions...

That’s so true. No other university is close to HkS in terms of openness about the process. The last entry in Princeton blog about admissions was on Dec 14th and that too a very generic one!

I agree with people saying that admissions day may be as late as March 14th for all the previously mentioned reasons. Moreover, today's blog is similar to last year's February 26th blog (10 days before admissions). If we add 10 days to March 2nd, we get March 12th. This would also fit the 1 week delay of Admit Day and Deposit Day.
Either way I believe March 7th would be the earliest and March 14th the latest (since it is the second Wednesday of March).

Matt seems to be following this forum and he seems to have taken the ‘copy-pasting blog entries from previous years’ view seriously!
