  1. CONGRATS @automatic !!! I just got in at exactly 3:47pm too and I'm an early modernist. Currently deciding between Columbia, Princeton, and Rutgers - hope to see you around the area
  2. Hi, just saw this thread and I'm checking in as well. I'm doing early modern, emphasis on Spenser, women's writing, poetry and poetics, some combination of the sort. Always probing into some digital humanities work on the side, but I think I'm most at ease writing about how bizarre and generative are poems by the likes of Wyatt, Gascoigne, Shakespeare, Philips, Herrick, Donne, etc.
  3. Been an absolutely ridiculous last three hours: I'm in a strange time zone for vacation right now and I got a call from my top top top favourite program Princeton at 3 in the morning, subsequently can't fall back asleep, then checked email and found out a UPenn rejection in the next hour, tried to fall asleep again, and was waken up by a call from Rutgers, and now it's 6 in the morning.
  4. hi just saw this - i never said anything about this on grad cafe yet until tonight so that unclaimed post shouldn't be me haha. but yes, I got an unofficial Irvine acceptance (call from one of the profs; no email yet) last Sunday (Feb 4).
  5. Thanks everyone! Hope this is helpful: they called me Saturday morning to unofficially inform me of my acceptance, and the prof also said that a more official email will be sent out (w/ more details on funding package hopefully?) on Wednesday. I'm an early modernist, if that info helps anyone. @chellyfish_ wow thanks! And yes I'm a Spenser fan and I heard lots of great things about Wofford, though I also heard that she was recently promoted to a dean and has less capacity for teaching/mentoring now?
  6. As la_mod said I think not all prospective admitted candidates are interviewed so I'm not sure myself too....interview was short, around 15 min, they really just asked two questions: 'why grad school,' and 'why Columbia,' and then opened up for questions.
  7. Anyone here has a idea when UPenn or Princeton comes out/if they do interviews?
  8. Been trying to hold off joining Grad Cafe but can't help it today....first post, hi everyone! Stanford, Northwestern, and Chicago rejections today. got an interview with Columbia but I feel increasingly cynical about how I did....
