  1. I didn't apply to Harvard's MTS because I figured my GRE score wouldn't be high enough. I got a 164/154/4.5 (v/q/aw). For those of you accepted, how do these numbers stack up? How about GPA? My undergrad is garbage, but I have a very strong MA (philosophy) gpa.
  2. Well, in addition to my original questions (above), what kind of stats (GRE and GPA) are needed to be a plausible candidate, assuming no URM status? Universities are so coy about this sort of thing. A median GPA and GRE would go much further than a mean, if you know what I mean.
  3. What GRE score is actually required to be in the middle of the pack for the top tier of master's level theology programs? Save the smarmy, lame platitudes about "the best score is the one that represents your best efforts." That's just something people say so that they don't hurt feelings of underachievers--we all know it, but no one says it. But I'm looking for info, not sensitivity. Also, save your unwarranted advice to the effect that "the GRE is unimportant for admissions." Be that as it may, it is still a factor and I'd like the data on it, since grad programs are far less than forthcoming. Do't hijack this thread.
  4. Also, does anyone know if the competition for each MTS concentration at Notre Dame is equally fierce? I would assume Bible and History of Christianity would be the most popular and difficult to get into, but yea, dunno. If I check my e-mail any more today, my computer is going to explode into a blaze of glory.
  5. I don't understand what's going on with Notre Dame's MTS admissions. Apparently, someone got admitted in late February? Their FAQ says that they don't even begin reviewing apps till late February. If we have not received a call/e-mail by now, are we sunk? Do they tell all rejected candidates on March 15, but tell accepted candidates in real-time? If decisions have been made, how come my account still says "no decision has been made yet"? Let's talk some Notre Dame here. It seems like some of y'all have the scoop. Also, their average accepted GRE Verbal score is purportedly a 161. However, all of the accepted candidates who have posted in the past are like 165 V and up. Don't get it.
