  1. lolol, you have 3 offers atm, does that help with the anxiety? or are you still waiting to hear from your top choice?
  2. what is the hierarchy of how you make decisions using these factors: funding, location, research fit, faculty personality fit, fit with grad students, beauty, gut feeling.
  3. if you do become his student, you will eventually become friends with him and you can let him know. besides, there's no way of knowing that it is indeed him since he may have a namesake
  4. lol,, do you think professors read this site? i think they are really too busy for that
  5. you did post your acceptances, so that narrowed down the programs. then you gave a description of the age of the professor and you posted that you are in devlopmental and used the pronoun 'he'.
  6. If you have been blessed/had the good fortune of being accepted somewhere, please tell us what you were doing when you first found out the good news...and what you did RIGHT AFTER. (I have seen some people share this info in other forums, but thought it would be fun to have all psychology ones together in one place.)
  7. as the week comes to an end, i hope that you all are able to find peace, or some sort of distractor tasks to keep your anxieties at a minimum. i hope next week brings better news and i look forward to hearing more about where you all are going!
  8. Do you at least get to visit the program during the interview?
  9. Wow so you’re going to USF?
  10. are you currently waiting for a spot as well?/
  11. I think the issue with holding multiple offers is that a lot of people wanna get all their offers before they decide. but the thing is some people know that they don't want to go to a program but they still hold on to the offer rather than saying no because they wanna have the freedom of making choices. I mean, if you get 4/5 offers that is definitely something to be proud of. But I think at any given time you can eliminate at least one offer if you have 3 or more.
  12. do applicants generally wait till April to make decisions or do they make decisions right away? i really hope people wont hold multiple offers
  13. I heard back from my top choice as an alternate! I am really thankful that I still have a shot at not going through this whole process again! I am holding my breath for a miracle of sorts. LOL, I hope whoever has the spot now hears back from his/her top choice hahaha. Or even better, I hope they create room for me regardless. This has been all I can think about and I really don't know how to get my mind off of it.
  14. Did anyone hear any crazy waitlist success stories?
  15. i would pray and hope there's room for you. not much else you can do but wait. i know waiting is hard
  16. I noticed there's usually one WAITLIST thread every year. This is where you can post about schools that you are waiting to hear back from. Consequently, if you are holding multiple offers and would like to get opinions, you can post here as well!
  17. What would you suggest wearing if interviewing in a state were it’s still snowing heavily? How about shoes?
  18. thanks for the response. I will reach out to him and keep him updated! I will let him know of the situation as well as try to keep it open. The email said if we want a skype interview, we should reach out to the professor. I dont know for sure, but i definitely don't wanna take too long as it has already been a couple of days.
  19. How would you guys frame an email requesting a Skype interview over an in-person one? I am definitely interested and i don't want to seem disinterested. it's more of a financial challenge.
  20. Hello, what is a reasonable way to ask a professor to send you information about their current research projects before the interview?
  21. what is a padfolio and what do you put in it?
