Anyone hear from  U of A recently?

Hi everyone! I ended up getting a spot at U of A (off the waitlist) on Thursday! Hopefully knowing there’s still some movement encourages you who are still waiting, since I too had lost hope. Good luck! 

Good morning everyone, just wanted to let you know I've been accepted into Dalhousie off the waitlist this morning! Best of luck to everyone still waiting ❤️  Stay hopeful, there is definitely some movement happening!

Just got off the Western waitlist this morning! That means they’re into the second quadrant now for those who are still waiting! 

I got an offer to U of A off the waitlist but declined since I've already accepted at Western! Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

I was accepted to Dalhousie off the waitlist on Monday, so anyone on the waitlists don't lose hope! I have a position on the waitlist at Western and McGill that I won't be taking. 

Hi all! I just got accepted off the waitlist at McGill and will be accepting! I will be declining my offer at Dalhousie and waitlist position at Western! Good luck everyone!

I noticed quite a few people looking for someone accepted to U of A to share their stats so I thought instead of messaging everyone directly I will just share them here!
My sub-GPA is 83% or 3.85 GPA (according to UBC's conversion scale). My GRE stats: Verbal 150 (60th %), Quant 149 (34th %), Writing 4.5 (81st %). 
For volunteer experience, I had 14 volunteer hours with an SLP, as well as volunteered as a research assistant in 2 labs at university. I also did a directed studies project and worked in a lab for that. I also had a little bit of volunteer hours at a halfway house which I'm not sure was relevant to my application but I guess the more volunteer hours, the better!
For work, I worked with people who have brain injuries for one summer and at the time of my application, had worked with kids who have autism for about 5 months. 
I think my letter of intent also helped me stand out as I did a ton of research of all the profs in the faculty at the university to see their specialities and areas of research, and then specifically mentioned a couple of them by name in my letter as I had similar interests to their specialities so it just helped me stand out and showed that I did some research too!

I would also very much appreciate any admitted U of A students to share their experience and stats with me as well. I’m unsure I’ll apply again after being waitlisted twice but any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated 

I was accepted to Western. I will be declining my offer to Alberta, hopefully someone gets off the waitlist!

Hey! There are 60 students registered in our review courses that we are automatically enrolled in. I'm guessing those open seats for the actual classes are just people who haven't registered yet. I hope this helps for people who are still waiting. 

Nope! Also still waiting, I'm trying to empathize with the difficulty of the current situation but the wait is driving me a little crazy especially since I have no idea why it would take so long to fill open spots haha best of luck to you, hoping they fill those spots and let everybody know soon  

If it makes you feel any better, there are still 10 people not enrolled for our classes, so I'd expect that there will still be some waitlist movement! 

Just got a call from uoft! I will be declining my western acceptance for uoft. Good luck everyone:)

Hello everyone!
Sorry that I am so late to joining this forum - my friend told me about it this morning and all I can think is that it would have been so nice to be able to chat with all of you through this intense process. I also received notification of being placed on the Waitlist for the UofA on March 10th and swear I was in my own sort of purgatory until just recently, especially with the added stress and anxiety of everything that is happening in the world right now - to which I want to say, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
With all that being said, I know that a lot of folks have been asking about UofA waitlist so that is why I still wanted to post so late in the game. I did receive a call from Vicki on April 16th offering me a spot off the waitlist on and into the program and accepted! So for those of you still waiting, hold out hope, and know that you're one spot closer. Hopefully we will be classmates in the fall!
To those of you who have received acceptances, congrats and good luck these coming years! I am beyond thrilled and can't wait to get started!

There are still 16/62 open seats in all of the classes. So unless people haven’t registered for classes yet, there should still be some waitlist movement. 

I got into Western off the waitlist!! Will likely be accepting

I messaged someone else who is waitlisted and they didn't hear as well. Hopefully we will hear some good news tomorrow! Good luck

I'm waitlisted at U of A as well. I anticipate waitlist movement on the 15th and afterwards. So hopefully we will both hear good news this week! Good luck
