Hey, everyone! I've been reading through posts and I was wondering if anyone else applied to the new Interdisciplinary Research in Music PhD program at the University of Ottawa. I'm still "Under Evaluation" and stressing about hearing back even though the application deadline is April 1st so I probably won't hear back until after then. Any other Canadians here? Where did you apply? Talk to me please social distancing is killing me I am dying we had to cancel our end of year concert and I'm BUMMED.

Hey, y'all I ended up getting into Ryerson off the wait list! I'm super thrilled to be starting this September and avoid paying American tuition at ASU. Is there a facebook group or anything for the cohort this year? I'm looking to connect with other people in the program so if you're also going feel free to DM me and we can add each other on social media or something. Thanks!

Finally got an acceptance! I got into Arizona State University. I'm also on the waitlist for Ryerson so I'm probably going to hang back on accepting right away but I'm super relieved especially since York just rejected me. Good luck to everyone else waiting!

Just letting y'all know I phoned York today and the next round of 1 year MSW acceptances is going out next week.

I was waitlisted by Ryerson today. My email went to my "updates" gmail tab so don't forget to check there!

I haven't heard anything from Ryerson yet.

I haven't heard back from any schools yet and I'm starting to get really worried. I haven't been rejected or waitlisted, I'm just pending or "in review" or "in consideration" everywhere. I applied to York, Ryerson, Arizona State University, and University of Texas so obviously the latter two schools don't apply here but I know ASU started getting back to people weeks ago. Am I screwed?

@txstarbs I phoned them and they told me Advanced Standing won't start hearing back until late March/early April because they're still waiting for the bulk of applicants to submit their secondary documentation package. Most people aren't done their final field evaluation until sometime in March.

Hey! I applied to the advanced standing MSW at Arizona State University. I know people started hearing back over 2 weeks ago but I'm still "in review" and I'm getting pretty frustrated. I phoned and they told me I'm in the last batch to review because one of my references didn't submit their letter until right before the deadline. If you applied do you mind telling me when and if you've heard back yet so I can try to figure out when I'll hear back by? Thanks!

@txstarbs if I recall correctly they told me a couple of people for advanced standing had already sent in their documents and they won't be reviewed until the rest are received in about March. I think we're in the same boat here. How are yours in so early? My final placement evaluation isn't until March.

I got nervous and phoned them, turns out it's because I applied for advanced standing. Heads up that if you applied for advanced standing they don't evaluate you for standard first, you'll be in review until your extra set of documents is complete. Thanks for the encouragement anyway!

Hey! Has anyone heard back from ASU? I'm still "in review" and I heard they started rolling out acceptances 2 weeks ago. I'm in the same boat with UT Austin right now as well. Any other Canadian applicants to American schools here? I'm wondering if that's making it take longer.

I hope so or else I will go bald from stress. My research interest is LGBTQ+ youth in the arts!

Mine still says "In Review" and my hair is going to fall out with stress. Is anyone else an international applicant? Do you think that's making it take longer? I'm Canadian.
