I was notified for an interview quickly as well so my line of thinking is the same as yours that it’ll be quick. Fingers crossed!
Thank you!! Hopefully you’ll hear some good news from them soon!

    Hi everyone!
I just finished my interview and it was very relaxed, I would say the overall feeling/vibe is that they are just trying to get to know you.
2 scenario questions and then you can ask questions.
Good luck to us all! ??

I believe it's the same thing, but different programs use different terminology for it!

Yes, they consider it a CSD course. I found that in the FAQ section somewhere on CSDCAS.

I was an in-field applicant without any internships or research experience either and have been accepted to 2 schools so far. Those things look great but definitely not required! Many applicants both CSD majors and out of field dont have those experiences and get into school just fine. Just be sure to have some sort of volunteer experiences/student org involvement/good GPA and GRE or something to stand out, it definitely doesn't have to be an internship or research!

Hi! While I think internships and research experience look good on your application I wouldn’t necessarily think they are make or break for getting into grad school. If your school has any research opportunities that you can take advantage of your senior year I would at least try to get in. It’s never too late! I would also say it doesn’t exclusively have to be in communication disorders. Even experience in a related field is still experience. (I did one semester in a psychology lab. Only one because I don’t exactly like the research aspect too much) An alternative: if you still feel you need to show some experience you might be to make up for it by doing more than the minimum 25 observation hours? I hope this helps!

I totally get not wanting to retake the GRE. You definitely have a lot of experience which is a positive but unfortunately schools weigh heavily on GPAs and GRE scores. I’m sure many people don’t like, I certainly don’t, it but it’s a painful truth. I looked at some of those same schools when I was getting ready to apply and I know from the ASHA Edfind site many accept GPAs starting at a 3.0 which would mean you just fall inside the range. Have you ever thought of applying to schools that offer an even larger GPA range like University of South Carolina which shows the GPA range starting at a 2.5? I’m not sure that’s the best advice but I have a similar GPA and GRE scores as you do and if I had to do this again I would definitely find and apply to schools that offered a larger range.
Alternatively, you could see about maybe taking some courses to boost your GPA?
I wouldn’t throw in the towel just yet. You’re definitely passionate about this, you wouldn’t have tried for so long if you weren’t.

Definitely feel proud, you’ve got a great GPA and amazing GRE scores! I understand your confusion since your stats are right where they need to be. Unfortunately, our major can be so competitive that even great applicants such as yourself have trouble. If you are willing to relocate I remember a thread that mentioned Florida allows you to practice as an SLP with just your bachelors in the school system as long as you get accepted into a masters program within two years. Maybe something worth looking into?
I’m rooting for you to get into SJSU!!

I saw on the results page someone called and asked them and you should hear back about an interview a week after the deadline. I don’t think they get many applications so I would imagine they get through everything rather quickly but I could be wrong

I have spent many hours looking at GradCafe seeing is there was hope for a low gpa to get into grad school for Speech Therapy. I am beyond happy to announce that I got accepted right out of undergrad into Adelphi this up coming fall semester. My gpa is a 2.9 and pretty average GRE scores. If you are worried and stressing out, I promise it will come to you! Look up schools with higher acceptance rates and play a numbers game!
