Do you mind sharing what this email update said/when it went out? I was having issues getting my transcript submitted to them, so my app was marked "incomplete" for a very long time, and I'm wondering if that may be related to me not knowing about this email update!

Emailed them to confirm and heard back from SHS that all invitations had been extended, over 500 applicants for < 8 slots. Congrats to those who did get the interview invites!!

I felt the same, especially how difficult it is to talk about the results to such supportive family members. It is my first year applying and I am rejected from around 10 PHD programs I applied for. I was trying to not say anything about the bad results after receiving them because I wanted to have some good news to share instead. However, I did not get any. But it is okay because we challenged ourselves and got to know ourselves better in this process. I believe your family members will support you as always. Nobody could predict the results before doing the application. I believe the relationships between every family member definitely deepened during the time. And, I wish you can hear some good news from the rest of the schools!

Officially ended this application season with only one interview. I'm proud of myself for getting one, but I'm also really nervous that I don't have anything to fall back on if this doesn't work out. Good news is that this was one of my top 3 schools. Bittersweet news is that I got waitlisted for interviews on my other two top slots. It gives me confidence if I have to apply next year--I know I have a good vision for where I belong. It also sucks, because I feel like I'm barely missing the mark. 

Harvard applicants: can someone who has been in contact with their POI share a little info on the situation?? The several posts about the significant cut in spot availability are making me worried now that two different POIs are no longer taking students... I applied to JW. Has anyone heard from him?

- Notre Dame FYI -    From the graduate studies coordinator: Each of the faculty are going at their own pace. They will likely be conducting interviews through the beginning of February as the recruitment event is at the end of February.

Good luck to everyone! I deduced that I received 0 invites this cycle and will try my best for the next cycle. For those with even just a single interview, know that hundreds of applicants would die to be in your shoes. I'm a bit heartbroken (0 invites from 10+ applications), but also have the foresight and resilience to get through another year. I'm just happy I get to finally take off these worry pants and go back to the focused grind.

For those wondering about Harvard like me, I reached out and although there is no formal interview weekend, PIs will reach out directly for an in person or Skype interview, and these are most likely to take place before February 6th, with decisions extended late February and March. I hope this helps!!

I haven't heard from Ohio State, but their interview date was Jan 10th so...I don't have my hopes up that I'll hear from them. Sorry ?

yes!!! Got two emails last night with random update info and my heart stopped both times. Ugh.

Just finished my (preliminary) phone interview with SUNY buffalo (still anxious), but wanted to share some news...because this thread is life for me right now and I appreciate everyone who contributes.
