  1. So at OSU, they have S/U and graded course sections. I was wondering what the difference would be between these two grading types. If anyone at OSU knows about this, I would appreciate it if you can provide me with some info.

I plan on taking two S/U and two graded courses my first semester as recommended by my department.

  2. I'm looking at off-campus housing for OSU, and I'm wondering if there's a list that someone can give me of my options. I'm interested in either a studio or a one-bedroom apartment that is furnished and includes a washer/dryer.

If anyone can give me any advice, that'd be great.

Also, I've been looking at the housing on campus in the Gateway apartments. The price is great, and it includes everything I need. It's right on campus too, so that's perfect. Does anyone who has lived there have any thoughts on it? What was your experience living there?

Any info on housing will be appreciated!

In another forum they have discussed this whole PennState mess... but cannot remember where. I am waiting, too, desperately.

The rumor is that they will not respect the April 15th deadline this year and go for rolling admission (no waitlist; just admitting one by one)...

Also the one person who is already admitted and posted the results here said that they are changing their focus this year away from contemporary American to Renaissance stuff (,which I personally, as a "21st century American Lit"-gurl find super charming).

Wow! That's crazy. They're the only school I'm waiting on. I'm like 98% I'm choosing another one, but now that I won't possibly hear from them until after April 15th means I'll most likely accept with the other school for sure since that's the national deadline.

I know technically the acceptance into the MA program makes this an acceptance letter, but has anyone ever told Fordham that--although admittedly humorous--it's somewhat tone-deaf to include an overlay of celebratory streamers and confetti when rejecting someone from a PhD program.

And as someone who just posted an edited decision page as a joke, I wanna be clear: this is not a joke or an edited photo, it's actually what their decision letter looks like.

    WOW!

    I am dyinggggg ??

My first non-rejection letter of the cycle came today in the form a waitlist email from UConn! Considering how few people UConn is accepting this year and how many people probably applied I do feel some sense of relief (however attenuated). Does anyone have any recommendations for what a waitlisted applicant can/should do to maximize their chances of acceptance off the waitlist?

Same here. I guess since I've been accepted already to one school, I don't feel as bad. It does give me a sense of relief. I was wondering when I would receive another admissions decision. Hah!

In terms of increasing your chances, I'm not sure how that would work exactly. Wouldn't it be that if someone who was accepted decides to reject the offer, they would pick someone from the waitlist? If anyone can clear that up, that'd be great because I'm not really sure either

In at UConn!! I'm genuinely so excited and especially after getting back to back rejections from Yale and Cornell, it's amazing to know I'll have somewhere to go!! Thank you to all of you for providing such a welcoming and thoughtful place on the internet!

That's freaking awesome! CONGRATS! Well deserved ?
