I have certainly had a few moments this last week of anxiety and frequent checking the portal and here. I really thought, based on previous years results pages, that I'd hear from at least one of the two programs I applied to last week - but covid times, world on fire with one crisis after another, a huge amount of applications - it all makes sense that things may take longer.

I feel oddly at peace with it this weekend. I have no explanation for it, and I'm sure I'll resume the frequent checking and trying to reassure myself come tomorrow but for today I'm like, it is what it is. I have a solid plan of what I'll do in the next year in the event I am unsuccessful. As much as it pains me to think like that and I'll likely be pretty devastated - I do know what I plan to do to make myself the best candidate I can be for the following year. (Also, I may need a reminder of this in the event it does happen!) Today though, I don't know...I'm building some ikea bookcases and maybe its the false sense of control and productivity from watching them come together and my study area get a little more organized - but I'm far less anxious today!

Also, what a poster earlier in the thread said, that the official transcript isn't needed yet so it is ok.

Other question to Calgary applicants, did a "notices" section appear on your home dashboard today? I swear it was not there yesterday...I applied to two programs at Calgary though, could very well be getting a rejection letter in there for one of them soon or it means absolutely nothing, or I was just oblivious to it before.

No, this went away roughly a week after I requested my institution send them a copy of my transcript. Can you email the email listed and confirm? Due to shipping issues with COVID, I'd imagine they are far more flexible on this than previous years.

I keep checking the portal for a rejection notice, likely not the best approach. Each email ding from my phone makes my heart leap - I’m sure we are all feeling this way. What a rollercoaster!

I completely understand how you're feeling! It's so hard to wait on receiving news. Although, it might help to know that communication between the programs and applicants to inform of interviews, etc. are done through email. Most, if not all, portals will only be updated if you receive an offer of admission (a formal letter indicating a funding package, etc) or a rejection letter. For clinical psych programs, those are communicated after an interview process. I am not aware of any clinical programs in Canada that make offers without interviewing applicants. I may be wrong on this as I've heard anecdotally that UAlberta's school/clinical program may do so, and way long ago on the results page someone said they received an offer from McGill without an interview.  Virtually none of my portals changed throughout the entire cycle until the end, March/April. I would make sure to check your spam folders and other folders in your email inbox for communication!
And just a heads up, for Calgary's clinical program, the program coordinator sends invites en masse to everyone on one specific day with the POI cc'd. Historically it has been on the first/second week of Jan.
    Hope that helps!

ok I'm chalking this up to my own powerful dissonance on this! I check the status all the time too, I'm fairly sure I'd receive an email for an interview or open house thing long before an admission, but alas the brain is powerful in convincing myself of whatever narrative fits what I'm hoping for!

Holy moly that is intimidating! With that length I'd have to assume its a group interview with the faculty and likely other applicants too?? Good luck, and congrats!!

This week is a long one. I keep expecting to see something - if not in my inbox, reported on the results page - for the program I applied to based on previous years results. Of course this year is a total guess though with all of the incredible variables in the mix with increased application, pandemic, the world on fire...so I think the time they make contact is anyone's guess.

Still, I'm finding I need to forcefully keep myself away from the refresh.

Yes, I certainly see why this is frustrating. My personal two cents here - I'm a current clin psych student but speaking as to when I was in my applying, I think I was hesitant to put too much specific information about my application components because I wanted to preserve my anonymity as an applicant - this is especially relevant to when I was going in for interviews and probably running into other grad cafe users. In retrospect I don't know why it mattered to me much, but I just felt weird about the whole thing. If i remember correctly, I was more comfortable with DMing people my POI though. But I do agree, it is very valuable information to pass on..
There's just something weird about being on this platform, like even as a current student I want to share more inside details about my program but I don't feel comfortable announcing it here, versus if I ran into you one on one in person.?‍♂️

Exciting day seeing more Canadian universities posting on the results page! Nothing from the programs I applied to yet, but I'm refreshing a lot despite trying not to! Congrats to all that have been contacted so far and good luck at your interviews!

Welcome to the return of the working week... the season where every email notification makes me jump out of my skin and fills me with existential dread ?
    Anyone else exceedingly jumpy today?

I've heard from one school that they still plan to do both 1:1 interviews and a "panel" interview with multiple admissions committee members interviewing one candidate at a time, all over Zoom. They also mentioned that they will be trying to put together a video tour of the facilities/psych department in lieu of an open house.
